Hi, Anonymous for this scenario you will need your service manual that has all fastener torque specs and a wiring diagram on the back pages, parts fiche, and owners manual if you can't find the best tool you ever bought for your Kawasaki, despair not, for a mere zero $0 you can download another one.

Hi!
Help is at Hand (Excuse pun),
This problem described strongly relates to a seizing clutch cable or frayed.
If you remove it try and pull/push the inner with your fingers there should be No resistance, you may get away with a good oiling but I would recommend replacement.
Good Luck!

Clutch wont disengage 250 kx 250

Here's how I'd try to fix the clutch:
1.) Try to adjust the cable at the handlebar; usually there's a little bid of clutch lever travel (like 1/4"-1/2") before the clutch disengages. For right now, adjust the clutch so that there isn't any play and the adjustment all the way out. If the clutch disengages the transmission, then you know you have to fiddle with the cable to get it adjusted properly.
2.) The clutch plates could be sticking: here you'd have to take the clutch cover off and get to the clutch. Remove the clutch (usually an impact is ideal for removing the clutch holding nut. Take the clutch apart (steels and clutches), make sure they aren't sticking together. Then dip the clutches in oil, then reassemble.
3.) Sometimes the clutch basket (holds all of the clutches and steels in a "basket") gets grooves in it. These grooves prevent the clutch from disengaging. Sometimes you can file the clutch basket fingers down to remove the grooves. Alternatively, if the clutch basket fingers are really worn, you may have to replace the clutch basket.
Typically, when your in the clutch side of the engine case, I'd examine 2 and 3 (above) at the same time.

I need to know how to remove lutch from kawasaki 65

1- Remove nuts, clutch spring plate and springs 2 Feed a rolled-up rag between both primary reduction gears to prevent the clutch from turning, then remove the clutch hub nut. 3- Remove clutch hub, pressure plate, steel plates and friction plates. 4- Remove clutch housing. 5- Slide clutch bushing and thrust water from shaft. Take care to note how thrust washer is installed.

2001 KX 250 - Cant get the clutch hub nut loose (30mm) used breakover bar and socket also used impact wrench. Nut wont budge. Any suggestions ?

Sorry guys but its probably not!!! left hand theads the clutch nut is peened down on the threads dont beleive me look you eill see little lines or punch marks on the nut their is a special tool you can buy or you can make one like i did to hold the clutch hub still. You were on the right track with the impact wrench if that dont work you dont have a big enough air supply for the wrench good old elbow grease should get it i did it by hand after i had the tool. PS- you must punch the nut in a few places once reinstalled. I learned the hard way by breaking it first

97 kx250 just replaced clutch hub, and basket. we can't put oil in yet beacuse we misplaced the plug, but when we got it all together and pulled the clutch in and pit it in gear it still grabbed.

if you tried the clutch dry it will grab. if you tried it with the oil in it and it grabbed, then adjust the cable. about 3 mil gap on the lever.

How do I get the clutch hub nut off in order to replace the clutch hub?

You would be best getting an impact driver. Just put the right size metric socket on it then strike the end with a hammer to remove or to tighten the nut. Use it also to loosen and tighten the case screws. It is the most used tool in my shop. Sears has them as does any tool store. Just get a 3/8" drive (not the 1/2" drive) and you will make stuck screws, nuts and bolts a thing of the past.
