'92 softail. Why don't turn signals work?

Was riding and noticed my turn signals weren't working, then noticed my headlight was out, figured out my wire on the key switch was broken for the headlight but can't figure out what's going on with the turn signals.

SOURCE: 01 Softail Deuce left turn signal comes on, will not go off @

I'm new to this site but actually has fielded a question about a Triumph motorcycle I'm worrking on!

I have an '03 Anniversary Deuce and I ran into (not the exact) but similar problem. My bike has the bars internally wired from the grips all the way through the top triple tree. Somehow over time the turn signal wire got shorted "internally". You might want to just unbolt the turn signal switch from the bars to see if the wire got pinched up high. If not...move the wires around to see if that helps. If it does...ultimately you should re-wire the connections. Just my experience...good luck!

SOURCE: 1988 Heritage Softail, electrical problem,

Probably time for a new battery. But first, check to be sure that water covers the top of the battery plates. Add water if needed.

SOURCE: Tanked up at gas station.

For speedometer not working replace the speed sensor

the speedo sensor mounted on the transmission. They have a habit of going bad. Sometimes it is possible to just clean metal particles off the magnectic tip and it will start working. speed sensor (vss). The vss gets metal shavings on it from the trans. You can clean it off but take a few more minutes and replace it.Replacing the speed sensor should help.------
The speedo wires are white,,red and black. If the speedo is not working the sensor may be bad.Its located in the top of the transmission

This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

I have a harley softail deluxe 2009 my headlight don;t work when key is turned on low beam my question is if the low beam burn out, the passing lamps didnt work ?

The blinkers should work independently of the headlight unless you have a blown fuse. Check the voltage at the plug on the back of the headlight.

After cleaning and polishing my '01 Fat Boy & checking that everything was working b4 ride. My SPEEDO stopped working, (black out #1) on the ride. Pulled over to check it out. At the same time, I...

The problem is most likely related to the speed sensor down on the tranny. Most likely it got wet and either shorted out or needs cleaned, but most likely it needs replaced, Do you have a Factory Manual as well as the Electronic diagnostics manual. You can put the bike into diagnostic mode and it will tell you what the problem is. If it is the speed sensor that crapped out . That would cause the speedo to illuminate, but not read anything. Also, it would cause the Speed/RPM cancel function to fail. Does the speedo illuminate? If not, you either have a dead speedo, or a short to its power. The only other thing is the ignithion switch, if water got into this and caused a short that would also cause this issue, try wiggling it around and see if it makes better contact and see if that helps, might just have to let it sit in the sun for a while and dry out and left over moisture. I assume you checked all the fuses?

A couple of questions though. Do the turn signals cancel when you bank turn the bike? There are two ways that the bike cancels the signals. Either via Speed/RPM ratio, or via the bank angle sensor inside the TSSM (Turn Signal / Security Module).

Lights, turn signals, horn don't work

Look for a bad ground connection inside the headlight shell (or possibly elsewhere). The other thing that all of the items you mention that are working intermittently have in common is the ignition switch. With the switch 'on', check for battery voltage at the fuses for the headlight, turn signals, horn, etc. No voltage at the fuses likely means a bad ignition switch.
