Question about 2002 Harley Davidson FXDL Dyna Low Rider
My fuel indicator shows about half of what is actually in the tank. Took the float out and re installed. Still not right.

Check the ground wire for the guage..sounds like a grounding problem...hey some of us use the tripmeter/odometer to guage our fuel...so do'nt worry about this too much.......Good Luck to you friend....Tim

You problem could be the gauge or the float. Simply because the float moves does not mean it's sending the correct signal to the gauge. If you will contact me directly as [email protected], I will send you information on how the gauge works and how to check it. Since you didn't mention what year and model bike, my information is probably for an earlier model but the principle of operation is still the same. I think it will help you determine what and where the problem is.
