NOISY FUEL PUMP ON 650 YAMAHA VSTAR (2002)

IT IS HARD TO START AND HAS A DEAD SPOT ON TAKE OFF, BUT NO PROBLEM WITH ACCELERATION OR RUNNING FLAT OUT. IS IT NORMAL FOR THE FUEL PUMP TO MAKE THE CLACKING SOUND WHEN THE KEY IS FIRST TURNED ON?

Your fuel pump suppose to Hum and gently vibrate only when working normally, clacking sound would only mean that it is having a hard time or inconsistently supplying gasoline into your engine. Have it checked and see if any improvement would happen.

2002 yamaha vstar 1100 where is the fuel pump located?

if the bike is fuel injected- the pump is in the fuel tank.. if the bike has carburetors- there is normally no fuel pump- the fuel gravity feeds from the tank thru the petcock valve into the carbs

Why will my 2002 yamaha vstar 1100 turn over but not start?

Have you checked the fuel supply? Could be a dead fuel pump or a blocked fuel filter.

Hi i have purchased a yamaha xvs 650 vstar classic 2003 model fitted with BUB exhaust pipes and i am getting poping and back fireing when decellarating and have been told the carby may need rejetting,could...

If the mechanic did not replace the exhaust pipe gaskets in the head or on any connections between the head pipes and the mufflers , the air leaks could be igniting unburned fuel in the exhaust , causing the popping and back firing. Try replacing any gaskets in the exhaust system.
If you have a flat spot or hesitation when accelerating than you probably also need to rejet the carburetors. Bigger main jets should fix that condition. A jet kit may also contain differently tapered needles for the slides to help compensate for the change in the acceleration curve.

I have a Yamaha Vstar Classic-650. When i try to start it all i get is a buzzing sound. The bike has been sitting for a few months, but I have always been able to start it up from except for now... can...

The buzzing is caused by a flat battery. or dirty corroded battery terminals.
If the battery is a few years old and has been sitting for a while it often pays to get a new one.
Running a less than perfect battery and or jump starting may cause other problems as it may overstress the charging system.

2002 yamaha 650 vstar, 20,000 miles. it won't

Could be the coil. Also could be several other things. Download a shop manual and diagnose it.
