SOURCE: where is the oil filter on my yamaha V-star 1100

On the right side of the bike (right side when ou are sitting on it) just above the rear brake lever behind a small circular plate. remove the plate and the oil filter is inside (you will easily see it). Warning---on these bikes you have to drop the front exhaust header and right floor board in order to change the oil filter unless you install a after market oil filter relocation kit. If you plan on changing your own oil it is highly recommended to install this relocation kit.

SOURCE: how to lower the idle on a 2002 yamaha 650 v-star classic?

under the left side of the gas tank you will see i black knob/screw at the end of what looks like a hose. the knob faces the rear of bike. that adjusts the idle. its real easy to find and the only adjustment you can make to the carbs.

SOURCE: yamaha v star 1100 blowing head lights

How's the battery holding up? Check the voltage on the battery and also check to see if it is bubbling a lot. 13.8V is optimal for the battery charging with the engine running, but up to 14.4 is common. If it's running a lot over that and the battery is making a lot of bubbles, probably the regulator is the problem.

If the battery is low on electrolyte, the regulator doesn't have anyplace to dump electrons, and that could also be a problem, so make sure the battery connections are good and tight, too.

SOURCE: Yamaha 1100 Drag Star 2001 Custom motor starter,

These parts are fairly reliable. Rather than buying new, you should be able to pick one up from a motorcycle breaker who will post it to you. I would expect to pay about £60-£100 tops in the UK (Depending on mileage). ANy Yamaha dealer will be happy to order you one new, but they are a hell of a price!

SOURCE: Can Synthetic blend oil be used with a Yamaha 1100

Yes, Yamaha makes regular,semi-,and full synthetic oil for there motorcycles. Make sure the oil you use is JASO MA certified for motorcycle use. Do not use any oil that says energy conserving, it will shorten the life of your clutch and drive gears. Amzoil and Mobile 1 both make good motorcycle oil (full synthetic). Full synthetic is often the same price as semi-synthetic.

Headlights and speedometer dim and flicker on 2001 Yamaha VStar 1100 custom? Thinking it is the battery (about 1-1 1/2 years old) not sure though?

Sounds like you need a new battery or to clean connections. Bike is not getting enough juice causing dimness and flickering. Hope this helps.

I have a Yamaha Dragstar 400 It starts perfect and idles fine but when reved the back cylinder shuts down

It may well be as simple as some water in the carb - drain carb bowls by use of the drain bolt (located at the lowest place)
Also check for water in tank - remember petrol floats on water!!

Hope this helps (if so please mark as very helpful !!)

New battery lights still flicker and dim when gasing, and the charging rate will drop

If charge rate drops then check all connections are tight especially the battery.

Need to use digital multi meter to check charge rate accurately.

May be faulty regulator or rctifier.
