The correct term is Throttle Cable. use needle nose pliers to remove it from the grip, take your new cable and run it the same way the old one was ran. follow the old one, then take the old cable out after installing the new cable.

Check the battery for charge and the connections for corrosion. Small batteries tend to lose water--check the fluid level in each cell--bring the level up to the upper line with distilled water only--not tap water. You may need to put it on a low current charger for 6-8 hours. Hope this helps!

see if you have gas in the oil. The carb float needle isn't shutting off full and letting gas seep into the cylinder and into the oil.
