Yes, it is safe to you but it doesn't last long b/c of the type of lubricant it is. It's way better than usign nothing, but you'll need to use it once a week, and evertime after you wash your bike. I'd recommend when you can investing in a can of chain lubricant which is thicker and doesnt dry out as fast, but you have no worries using WD-40.- Jennifer
