2006 Kawasaki KX 250 F how to replace the kickstart lever shaft

Hi, I have 2006 kx250f and then the bolt holding the kickstart on the shaft snapped inside the shaft, therefore, I need a whole new shaft replacement. I removed the outer casing to expose the shaft and the kickstart gear but I am finding it difficult to remove it. Like impossible. It is stuck behind another large gear on the bottom right-hand portion of the kickstart gear(not sure what it is) and I am not sure how to remove it. Any help would be great. :) @

The simple way to do it is borrow an electric impact gun. (1/2" drive) If you jam something in there you can damage things.

SOURCE: I need the tourqe specs

For 1997 Kawasaki KX80 the manual says torque the cylinder and head to 18ft. pounds; a torque to yield type of bolt will fail when over torqued. Otherwise there should be no problem.

Good luck.

Kick start seized

IF YOUR KICKSTART HAS SEIZED AND IT WON'T TILT BACK IN THE PROBLEMS ON THE SHAFT (REMOVE THE DOMED ALAN CAP BOLT THEN REMOVE THE ACTUAL KICKSTART AND CLEAN UP THE SHAFT AND INSIDE DIA OF THE KICKSTART AND LUBE IT BEFORE REFITTING, MIND YOU DON'T LOSE THE SPRING AND BALL). IF ITS SEIZES WHEN YOU KICK THE KICKSTART THEN ITS THE KICKSTART GEAR OR BUSH IN THE SIDE COVER THATS THE PROBLEM. ITS EASY ENOUGH TO CHANGE IF YOU HAVE THE TOOLS FOR THE JOB. IF ITS A DIRT BIKE TRY TO PRESSURE WASH IT THEN SPRAY WITH WD-40 IT MIGHT HELP. GOOD LUCK IF YOU NEED HELP WITH STRIPPING IT DOWN JUST LET ME KNOW (ALSO LET ME KNOW IF ITS A LEFT OR RIGHT SIDE KICKSTART)

Need to change kick start spring

Hi, i am sorry but you dont say what the model of your machine is, this would help me determing the correct, answers for your questions, most kickstart springs can be changed by simply removing the clutch cover followed by the kickstarter shaft and then replacing the spring, make a note of kickstart stop location carefully remove the shaft holding the gears together replace the spring followed by the. Replacing the shaft and tensioning the spring before cover replacment, oil, etc. Some machines the shaft and spring is inside the centre cases and a complete engine strip is ness

I have a Peugeot speedfighter2 50cc scooter. The bike turns over on the stand but when I sit on the bike there is no power. Guessing it mayb drive belt related but how would I know?

sounds like either the belt has snapped or the springs/rollers have mishapened

take the right hand engine case off leaving the kickstart lever bolted to the shaft and you will see a clutch at the back of the engine and a variator at the front, take the variator off by undoing the nut on the crankshaft and the belt will come off then replace it with the new one and reverse the procedure i would suggest using some loctite on the nut and crank as the have a habit off falling off

if its the springs/rollers then it will need to go in to a garage to have them replaced

Hope this helps

What holes the kickstart on a kx250f

The lever should be held on to the shaft by a clamp and pinch bolt. Both shaft a lever are splined and need s to be slide straight of. If it won't slide off, tap a scre driver in the clamp gap tospread the clamp a small amout. The kick lever should the come off.

Ryobi ry60514 tines won't turn

there are shear bolts that hold the tines on. they are designed to snap when u hit something big such as a big rock or pipe or something like that. they are designed to snap at so much pounds of pressure so u dont break any gears or gearshafts. a lot of times people dont realize this and put regular screws or bolts in it and run it. when they hit something they ussually snap the gearshaft inside the tiller. i have replaced this on my fathers tiller cause he did the same thing. so either u might need to put new shear bolts in or if u had a regular bolt in u probably snapped a gear shaft or a gear.
