You put it in gear runs good and in 3 gears starts to bog down. the idle high then low not a consistent idle rate
This could be something so simple as linkage sticking needing some lube to carb cleaner needing to be run through and at most taking the throttle body off and cleaning the throttle control valve.
Seems like you got a fuel pressure issue.Bogs down in 3rd. .Then idle high and low. Also check the MAP sensor its up along the firewall.Make sure the hose and electrical is connected,

yes its the iac "idle air control" they go bad also loose batt conections cause this problem good luck

You haven't changed everything...map sensor controls spark and fuel mixture as does the throttle position sensor, also check the idle control valve...Don't just buy stuff...do testing first.
SOURCE: 89 jeep cherokee 4.0 it bogs down and will accelerate in drive
Make sure that the timing is correct and that the spark from the coil is healthy. Problem can also be with the overdrive in the converter. If it's stuck on it can do that too.

Check your throtle postition sensor. It monitors what postion the throtle is at and sends that info to the ecm. It will go bad and cause that problem.
