What exactly are you trying to do? I'm assuming you meant 'Compression'.
Are you refering to the compression in the cylinder? I don't think the early Grizzlys had fuel injection so that won't be the issue. Engine compression isn't usually that high and is released when you remove the spark plugs.
Jac, you can google search your year make and model cylinder head bolt torque.

Hi, if there is smoke 10-20 minutes that is fine, probably just residual oil from the top engine work.
if the smoke is a hour coming off the engine because of external oil leak, sounds like head gasket is leaking. If you continue to run the machine like this, make sure to always check oil levels and add oil when low. As long as your smoke is not coming out the tail pipe which would mean you are burning oil and would need to be fixed.
side note: Its always good to have a Haynes manual for any machine you own, they have great troubleshooting tips.
If its a 2 stoke,"takes gas oil mix", piston in backwards,, ,,,,if its a 4 stroke "takes gas only"...rocker arms need adjusted, or cam not set in proper place during resembly "out of time". Or a. Bent valve/valves,,,in the head, valve will have to be replaced
If it is not leaking any out at any place then you are looking at top end work. Does it smoke? Rings would be suspect. Also take a look in your air box and see how you filter looks.
