2006 Piaggio X8 125 My Piaggio x8 125 LC loses power at max throttle! At first it was at max throttle (100 kph) and felt it was runing short of petrol or choked up. Now it only runs at 3/4 throttle (70 to 80 kph) before losing power continuously if throttle is kept open until I shut my throttle right off and will recover when opening my throttle slowly. (work done = Air Filter, Fuel Filters in lines and tank, vacume fuel pump, Vac lines and pipes inspected, Inlet Hose collapse, Carb cleaned blown out and diafram cheqed for leaks.

Thought of some more to add! new Coil, Plug, Float chamber level.
When I run at 60 kph +/- the engine will not kill by switch or ignition or both!

SOURCE: Where does my 2 stroke oil Go in my piaggio Zip 50cc 2007

There should be a tank, usually under the seat or behind the rear side panels. Just fill the 2-stroke tank and don't worry about the mixing, the engine does it on it's own.

Piaggio X8 No longer starting.

hi david.
If there is a clicking sound when pressing the starter button that is indicative of a bad starter relay, a fairly common problem problem with Aprilia scooters.
sounds like the starter to me, if you pull off your belt case you should be able to turn the engine from there to make sure its not siezed, if its pulling more than 5amps then the starter motor is likely siezed, dont keep trying it as this could result in the wiring overheating, 0.6 ohms is a decent reading for a ground connection, if you connect your volt meter + from the battery + connection to the starter + connection with volts selected try to start it, the reading you will get will be the voltage being lost between the battery and the starter it should be low, eg less than 1 volt dropped, if not look for poor connections.

Hello crosby, it still sounds like a fuel delivery problem or fuel mixture. Also a possibility is a restricted exhaust. Like carbon buildup that is creating too much back pressure. The carb being "blown out" is not going to properly clean it. The best way to clean all the jets and passages is to remove it & have it boiled or ultrasonic cleaned. The not being able to kill problem is a wiring problem. The spark is not being shut off, (voltage) Trouble shoot these areas and let me know what you find. I hope this helps.

2009 Piaggio Fly 150 will not idle

There is a plastic knob on the side of the carby that you can adjust to set the idle speed. Start the engine and turn the knob until the idle speed is felt above your throttle setting. Now set the idle speed with no throttle and you feel it is about right ( 500-600 rpm ).
