2008 Hyosung GT650S I think my side stand relay is causing my bike not to start. The Stator was replaced recently and the battery seems to be holding a charge fine. Sometimes the bike just won't start either in neutral with side stand down or first gear with side stand up. I think there may be a short, but if it is the side stand relay, wouldn't it start in neutral because the circuit is completed while in neutral. Sometimes my bike with just magically start after i kick the stand back down, reset the kill switch, turn the key to off position and then restart the entire process, but at the present time the only way i can start it is bump start in second gear. the bike is under warranty but the dealer is a real **** and i would rather not deal with him anymore. Could you please give me a few ideas to try, I am in the navy and just want to be able to ride to and from work so that i can save gas, i bought this bike with no miles, i've only put 1000 miles on in 2 months, but i bought the bike new so i wouldn't have any issues, and i have too many issues. anything will help, THANK YOU

What I would suggest then is to bridge the side stand switch. If the switch stays open circuit, it will never start but if you bridge the wires before the switch then the bike should start and have now solved the problem for the interim or you if it does not start you know you have to look elsewhere.

Please get back if you require anything else or give favorable feedback.

I have a 2008 hyosung gt250r. All of a sudden it has started this issue. Where i start the bike in neutral then go to get first gear and the bike just cuts out each time..so ive had to start off in second...

The problem is the side stand cut out switch - it allows you to start the bike to warm it up on the side stand but if you true to ride off with the side stand down the bike will cut out reminding you the stand is down.
If you bike is cutting out when putting it into gear after starting it is definitely the cut out switch - check the side stand there will be a switch around it some where close to were it bolts onto the frame.

2008 v star 1100 silverado does it have a stator or any relay switches that could keep this bike from starting

Kick stand switch may be the problem, if the kick stand is down and clutch out it wont start, sometime this switch will play up and it can be bypassed.

My 2007 hyosung 650 will not start. Does nothing. No clicking no thinking happens when I push start. Headlight comes on so battery is good I think. This started after I charged battery while connected to...

Check your battery connections first, but I suspect it is more of a starter relay issue. The relay is typically mounted close to the battery and the positive wire goes from the battery directly to the relay ( some manufacturers call the relay a stator, or magnetic, switch.) This component can easily burn from trying to start the bike with a weak battery, so charging it hooked up likely didn't cook it - however, I strongly suggest you disconnect the negative cable next time you charge - just to make sure!!

Bike starts but as soon as u engage gear shift it stalls bike

Does this model have a switch on the side stand. If so it could be faulty and fooling the bike into thinking the side stand is down and stalling it for safety.

My problem is that I have to charge the bike just to start it, then once it starts it runs fine until I come to a stop, then it dies. It starts back up ok but still dies when I stop. The positive and...

sounds like you may have damaged the stator or another part of the ignition system when it shorted. the bike will only run while the battery has power as it is not being charged when the bike is running. when my stator went on the Harley it collapsed the battery and the bike just stopped, all the acid went over my primary cover and ruined the chrome, it was 1 week out of warranty at the time

My hyosung bike wont start

flat battery,,, try charging it up,,,il give you a free tip,,,
if your going to stand the bike up for a long time,,
ie:weeks, then buy yourself a solar charger of 12 volts @ 2,4 watts and hook that up to your battery when you leave the bike, it will keep the battery toped up,, and all the solar sell needs to work is day light,, sun light is far better but good light will do,,,
free power,, i use them on all my bikes, no flat batterys so far,,,in 3 years!
