How do I start the yamaha riva125cc w/electric start? Do I have to hold the gas or throttle. It's a '94.

Are you actually trying to start the bike with a battery charger switched on and connected to the battery. If so then you are at risk of blowing the whole electrics system battery and charger. Try removing the battery (undo negative lead first please) connect a dedicated motorcycle battery charger to it and allow the battery to reach full power. The charger should have an output of no more than 1 amp. Car chargers will wreck your battery DON'T USE THEM EVER. When the battery is fully charged refit it (positive lead first please) then try to start the bike. You cannot expect a battery charger to give enough cranking current to start a bike it is not designed to do it. NEVER USE A CHARGER WITH A JUMP START FUNCTION OR TRY TO JUMP START USING A CAR BATTERY LINKED TO YOUR BIKE. Both of these will fry your battery and possibly make it explode. Good luck

Where do I look for electrical problem on Yamaha Motorcycle?

If they did that, then they may have also wrecked the alternator and anything electronic (gauge head and ignition control module?) in the bike. It shouldn't have damaged the starter motor or the lights, though. Check & see if the lights work - try the brake light, that's easy. Headlight, too. The neutral indicator light should be OK.

If the lights work but none of the electronic stuff works, then try to avoid that friend when you have a bike problem. You'll need to trace power to everything electronic - anything with a circuit board inside - and verify whether that particular circuit board works at all, replacing it if it doesn't.

The alternator itself (the windings) should be fine, but the voltage regulator (probably inside the alternator but possibly a separate module) will likely be wrecked.

Nearly all electronic devices are sensitive to battery polarity, and can be destroyed if that polarity is reversed.

I have a 2001 zx6 kawasaki the fuel pump wont come on when its plugged into the harness but it works if i jump it from the battery this bike as been wrecked and hasent been started since the wreck is it...

The Ninja has a fuel pump circuit, have you checked the relay? This is usually the problem, the connector melts or breaks, as you can see here in this picture...also check your fuses. Hope this helps.

ZX14 was wrecked

Drain the fron end fork and replace it using a recommended approch. Even levels and not air bound or a suchion bound may cause a stiff fromt end and not flexible enough that can not be noticed standing still and pushing down on the front end, This can cause a wobble that is like a loose wheel

Bike starts but won't idle

I am not sure though, but just check the bike's manual for a FUSE. It is because I too had a bike but not a good one and I had some what similar issues. I found that the Fuse in the bike has gone. If the fuse has gone bad then the bike will not run So try changing the Fuse. If you have any more questions you can have a look at the link below. have discussed the topic in bottom of the page. Kindly go through the same.Good Luck !!!

Yzf 600r Wont hold a charge? does it have something to do with the magneto or generator?I bought the bike back from a friend and he wrecked it and put a new generator cover on so he changed everything over...

It's not charging, or the battery won't hold a charge? Get a multimeter and test the generator with the bike running, should be 13.5-14.5 volts. If you get this, you need a battery, if not need to find the bad component in the charging system.
