SOURCE: 1991 CB 250 Nighthawk: whats the top speed for a 1991 honda nighthawk 250...
I have had my 2008 Nighthawk 250 up to 70mph with some left over. I just got it so I haven't really run it full throttle yet ( 75 miles on the OD ) I weight 300 lbs. I would guess 80 on a flat road. I felt comfy at 70 but this is my 5th bike. I bought this one for the gas mileage and 1 yr. warranty. I will try actual top speed on the Interstate in about 1000 miles. Hope this helps. I like the bike. Chris

IF you have a battery get a new one ; put in new gas ; super; dsid you ajest any screws on carb. You tight need to run a prime tank right to your carb to prime it; and then hook your tank backup new gas lines to your carb. Now break out with the WD40 to spray all switches for rust.

hi 81 yamaha i am concerned about the fuel smell coming out with the oil. could be the carbs flooding filling your crankcase with fuel? if not it sounds like you have blow by which would cause your crank case to be slightly pressured. this is caused by worn piston rings. do not plug your crank vent. if you leave your vent open install small filter to stop dirt from entering jim

Look around the engine oil drain plug and fill area and see if there is an electric sending unit( small plug with a prong for a wire) that is screwed into the engine if so check to see if its unplugged / could be a low oil cut off switch that kills all power to the ignition if the oil is to low ( or the wire is unplugged)

Don't mess with the spark or the bore and you will save a ton of cash. The spark will yield little for the money. The bore is the same story. Having a race cam is the way to go for instant power and snap.

Contact Web Cam Racing (1-951-369-5144) in California and they can fix you up. The web address is www.webcamshafts.com You would ship your cam to
them by Federal Express and they would modify the cam to your
specifications then send it back. Neither you or I can give them degree
angles for rise or duration or any other spec they may need, so you just need
to tell them what type of racing you do (street, track, quarter mile etc ), and
what you want from the cam i.e. take off from the line, top end speed, torque,
etc.. Basically, tell them you just want to wax anyone dumb enough to
challenge you street.
Don't get too radical with the cam. Go too far and the bike will only start
with a car pulling you at 30 mph. I am serious. Also, tell them any
modifications you have made > air cleaner, sprockets, tires, exhaust etc.. ASK FOR THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS on the
above and on ignition timing.
Okay, I have given you my best. Hold on tight to the bars. Do me a
favor and don't kill yourself. You are playing with fire here. I am serious
about that as well. I forgot to ask / mention, who will do the cam removal
and re-install the cam? I strongly suggest the dealers service department so
you have an experienced hand in the mix. Also, you will probably need to re-jet
the carb. Ask the cam shop about that as well.
