Did you jump it directly from a car or did you use a booster designed for a car or truck? Some car and truck boosters can be too powerful for a bike electrical system as cars need a much higher Amp rating to turn over a bigger, heavier engine. Take it to an Auto-Electrician or bike specialist to check the other parts in the electrical system. You might have damaged either the battery or another part when you 'jumped' the bike.
I think that your CDI needs replacing. It is sometimes possible to dig a bit of epoxy out and solder the wire back. If this works, seal the area with silicone after.
Hello Jason
To begin with, ..Why did you change the CDI and rectifier? Were you having charging problems?? The rectifier simply changes A/C current into D/C current run the electrical system/charge the battery! The CDI manages the spark for the spark plug. The CDI and rectifier are for TWO different electrical system. (Engine running - and - battery charging/lights/turn signals, etc.)
Please tell me what was wrong and everything you did and WHY.
Please reply thru fixya and I will get back to you!
squirt some starting fluid in the air box ...if it fires and attempts to run , clean the carb jets are clogged
common problem when fuel is left in carb when storing
Hi you can easily fix at the back of the switch ,you will see we're the wire go on ,use a multi meter set it to resistance or tone ,insert the key turn check the points for s short mean you will hear a beep or the value on the screen will change ,so if you have four points then you should have two circuit s, so mark them there both the same ok next look at the cables again four next look real close you will see two are thicker than the other solder one on one on the other mind put some solder on the cables first hope this helps
Finding Repair Manuals Online
Many of our patrons are interested in saving money by repairing their cars themselves. They know from experience that repair manuals and diagrams can make their work a lot easier. When their local library doesn't have the manual they need, they decide to see if they can save a little more money by finding a free copy of the manual or diagram on the Internet.
Unfortunately, these materials are almost NEVER available on the Internet for free! The reason for this is that the people who publish the manuals and own the copyright aren't about to give the material away free--they want to get paid for their work!! Also, many of the manuals are so large, it would be very costly to place them online and store all the Web pages or provide access to them from a database.
The Internet, though, has a large number of web sites where you can buy service manuals and schematics from bookstores, publishers, and other collectors. Here is just a sampling of what sites are out there:
Chilton Repair Manuals
http://www.chilton.cengage.com/
Factory Auto manuals
http://www.factoryautomanuals.com/)
Haynes Publishing
http://www.haynes.com/
AutoLit.com
http://www.autolit.com/home.htm
RepairManual.com
http://www.repairmanual.com/
You may also want to check out Yahoo's category for Automotive Booksellers, or more general on-line bookstores such as Amazon.com.
Don't forget that public libraries are also great places to find such manuals -- many libraries have them in print or on cd-roms. They may also be able to get the manual or diagram you need from
another library if you use their Inter library Loan Service. Not every library offers this service, but it never hurts to ask if they do!
Finally, there are many web sites out there where you can at least ask an automobile expert for advice. AutoGuide.net's Automotive Advice category is a good starting point for finding these
services.
I am assuming that the cable is adjusted properly. It should have +-5mm of freeplay at the lever when pulled. If the unit has been sitting this is not uncommon due to the plates sticking together from rust from condensation moisture inside the engine. especially in a humid enviornment. You can try riding the bike in first gear with the clutch pulled in snap the throttle open and closed quickly and repeatedly to attempt to break the plates free. Be care full and attempt in an open area where there is plenty of room. It can be a wild ride. If this does not work the clutch will need to be dissassembled, cleaned and reassembled as necessary. Also will need an oil change.
Please help.. somebody pushed my sky jet 125 over and now it won't start. I have spark but no fuel i n the carb. Does it have a fuel cutoff? Or something similar?
not illegal if you run daytime only as far as im aware, would start with checking the plug from the switch gear, then check the wiring, and the switch itself, use a meter to locate faults, if this is anything like my chinese bike, ya best of rewiring the lights to stay on permanent
