It certainly could be. Polaris did have this problem in the 500 Sportsman in earlier years. Unfortunately, the decompressor can't be repaired on it's own, you'll have to buy the entire cam with the decompressor. The good news is Polaris reduced the price of the cams to make them more affordable to the individuals that missed the factory recall. Good Luck!

I think with this question better go to some mechanic from repairing centre.

Remove and clean the carburetor jets with carburetor cleaner and compressed air.

I would overhaul the carby and check for corrosion in the main jet and other circuits if it is a 2 stroke I would check the crank shaft seals as they may be hard and leaking mixture and running lean ( backfiring)

what exactly did you do to the carburettor

find the manual on this each cylinder is timed on the compression stroke with piston at top dead centre or look on you tube for a video on it

there should be a manufacturers data plate on the bike you should be able to get an address from this so as to contact them.

It would have to be an in tank electric pump or it will burn out. Electric pumps are cooled an lubricated by the fuel passing through it. My first thought was that it has a diaphragm carburetor and the membrane was punctured or split. This is a combo unit. Confirm the disc is playable. The problem may not be in the machine. Check that the power plug is firmly inserted. I have provided links to manuals for the machine.
