Press starter button and nothing happens
How familiar are you with the Piaggio MP3 ?
For the electric starter to operate, not only does the ignition key have to be turned to the on position AND the ENGINE STOP SWITCH
be in the RUN position .....
BUT you must also APPLY REASONABLE PRESSURE to either of the BRAKE LEVERS.
On another note, the MP3 has an IMMOBILISER
There is a TRANSPONDER CHIP in the IGNITION KEY that is detected by the bike's "security system" and the CODE in it is read and compared to the one stored on-board.
I've never tried to start a MP3 with a key that has the wrong code or the transponder chip missing, BUT, if it is the same as my car (Ford Mondeo) the STARTER MOTOR DOES NOT TURN - NOT EVEN A CLICK
Piaggio X9 Evolution 500 back lighting to instrument panel does not work
Hello there, I have a problem with my Piaggio X9 500, 2002 model dashboard. When I turn the key on, the injection, alarm, rear brake, gas reserve, low and high beam bulbs do not check initially , thought they work fine after when I press each button. Could you please give me any suggestion? (the dashboard clocks are NEW!)
2009 Piaggio Fly 150 will not idle
There is a plastic knob on the side of the carby that you can adjust to set the idle speed. Start the engine and turn the knob until the idle speed is felt above your throttle setting. Now set the idle speed with no throttle and you feel it is about right ( 500-600 rpm ).
2008 Piaggio Zip 50 will not start
Sounds like the cold start system needs looking at . As long as the engine is turning over and firing it should eventually start. Mine had the same problem.
Cuts out at full throttle 2006 Piaggio Liberty 200
Assuming you have done a full and proper carby service the only thing left is the fuel outlet from the fuel tank, it may have gotten clogged up in the 1 year that it stood idle. Always start at the source of the supply whether it's electrical or fuel. Work you way through each phase of transition of the supply till you find your fault.
Will not move 2016 Piaggio MP3 500 Sport ABS
I know this is old but in case anyone is looking for a fix for a similar problem. First this is fuel injected and I believe the throttle is done electronically so it's drive by wire. And I had an issue with this after hitting something on my MP3 and it appeared I ripped a wire on a front wheel sensor preventing it from being able to read if the bike was moving. So on the center stand without the front suspension locked it would rev ok. But when I locked the front suspension it wouldn't rev. Once I reconnected the front sensor it worked fine. I'm guessing it's a safety thing. So if anyone has a similar problem it's possible its a problem with the ABS/ASR sensors and associated parts.
