You have a bad battery..... check all out at AutoZone or other auto stores that offer free testing. there are many.
Simple... if it starts with a jump... you have a lack of battery power... bottom line.
you should also check your charging system at same auto center.

NO -- there is no connection
the problem may be in the wiring harness , ground point , regulator or the unit itself

I have a 1980 Yamaha that has a tilt switch mounted on the right handle bar. If I tilt the motorcycle more than 45 degrees, then the switch operates and grounds the electrical system to the plugs preventing the engine from firing. This is a safety feature built into many motorcycles that kill the engine if you have a wreck or have to lay the motorcycle down. Some times these switches go bad and output a ground signal that prevent the motorcycle engine from starting.

Beings it did seem to work intermittently ("sometimes they would work") tells me there is a loose wire, or loose electrical connection somewhere along the wire run.

First off a 05 dont have slipper clutch or idel screw I have an 05 only 08 & up has slipper if it's ticking its cam chain tentionr or clutch assmbly plates springs ect or valves need adjusting
