Go here. There is a wealth of information on the V-Star.

https://sites.google.com/site/vstar1100kb/home

Section 8 has Shop Manuals that should have step-by-step instructions. Great site also for modifications.

On the right hand side of the bike. If you sit on the seat with you feet on the ground, it is to the left of your shin, behind the exhaust lower pipe.

Does the bike backfire only when the throttle is being closed? The carbs have a idle enrichment circuit. If the idle enrichment diaphragms are stuck in the closed position, the bike will backfire when the throttle is shut down. You can't remove these parts for cleaning without seperating the two carb bodies (and then needing to synchronize the carbs after reassembly). A trick that worked for me...fresh fuel, and some fuel system cleaner in the tank...ride the bike at highway speeds for 20 -30 minutes...repetedly rev the engine to a high RPM then shut the throttle closed. The repeted application of high engine vaccum to the enrichment diaphragms freed the stuck diaphragms and the fresh fuel cleaned any gum and varnish that caused the trouble. I've put 20,000 miles on it since then with no backfiring.

Need to take off the fuel tank and after intake system from carboretors

If fuse was burned, the problem ought to be in the circuit in which the fuse is situated. That is your staring point for tracing back to the fault, I would think. You have eliminated the starter system so focus on the ignition system.

start up the bike, put volt meter on battery terminals,if voltage rises with revs ,the anternator is okay, but if no volts then the alternator or the wiring to the battery is suspect

If its like the xvs650, sometime the speedo end of the cable has a habbit of dropping off, lift the speedo housing and have a look. I had it happen just I got to a speed camera which was funny in the least.
