This can happen when the side stand switch or clutch switch is not working
We have lost the only
VIN and model and make will not help. The best thing you can do is call around for a locksmith that has the Yamaha key blanks. He can then make a new key by taking impressions from the lock pins.
Need to change the battery,
Depending on what model bike you have, the battery will either be under the seat or under a side cover, usually the right side cover. Screws differ. Some require a phillips screwdriver others require a flat screwdriver and some require a 10mm or 8mm wrench.
Wiring on a 2004 Yamaha
Not a great deal of information but it sounds like a faulty/sticking side stand switch. First try cleaning the switch or replace if no luck

Change your plug first, cheap easy to do.
Then check for dirt in the carbs, normally colects in the float bowl & if that is the problem fit one of them paper inline fuel filters for future.
If thats not it then look at your ignition, coil first (again cheapest first).
Mezo.
I have a 2001 yamaha
First of allyou need to determine if you are loosing spark or fuel.If you are loosing fuel, you might look at a plugged fuel screen inside thegas tank or of course a plugged fuel filter. If you are loosing spark, you are most likely looking at a bad CDI box. They are very good for that.
I have rear turn signals,
Check your tail light wiring because turn signals and tail light wiring is different, there may a chance that turn signals are okay but tail light is not responding or tail light and running lights are responding and turn signals are not okay.
I have a 02 v
You have a sight glass for the oil level - it's near the front of the engine, down near the shifter pivot point. It's a little tough to see and it's a 2 person job to check the oil level since the bike has to be vertical to check the level. Check without the engine running. There are two small grooves on the right side of the sight glass to indicate high and low level. You want to maintain the higher level.
Taking off the mufflers won't mess up your compression ratio. But - you need to have some form of muffler to create a little back pressure. Open pipes will backfire like crazy and the open pipes can lead to warped and cracked exhaust valves. Not advised. Get a pair of Cobra slip-ons or something like that - I would not suggest running open pipes.
I hope this answered your questions! Good luck!
Will not start when moter
check the float in the carb, if its not stopping the fuel from entering when its off, it will flood the motor, try starting it with the gas all the way on and turn it over, If it starts thats the problem, Now if your talking about the starter not working when it gets hot,, replace the starter
I've got a 2011 v
Yup, it's an electrical problem due to the moisture. Start by checking all fuses and then one by one every wire connector. Remove, clean, dry. Dont forget the ones under the seat and inside of the headlight. If you put a little dielectric grease on the contacts, then snap them together, it will prevent this from happening again---good luck.
How to change a headlight
should be 3 or 4 screws on bezel aroung lite, remove these headlamp will fall out. unplug, and reinstall new one
Changed out the clutch lever.
Could be the kick stand switch. Will turn off the bike if you put it in gear with the stand down. Your kick stand switch may be stuck or just bad.
V-star 650 won't start and
Replace your right switch assembly on the handle bar. Your starter button is dirty or broken and the only way to replace it is to replace the assembly. Your starter button is a two position switch that both turns off the headlight to direct more power to the starter and activates your starter solenoid. Either the right switch assembly has become unplugged from the harness inside the head light bucket or a broken power wire is causing the system to not work. But most likely a dirty or broken starter button is the cause of your problems.
I need the manual
Exactly which year and model of Yamaha was not mentioned. However, the web site below has over 1000 service manuals available for free download. Just go to the site and check to see if they have the manual you need. Please rate my answer. Thanks!

05 v star 1100 pops
It has an intake valve out of adjustment. Adjusting the valves is part of normal maintanance, usually after the first 1000 mi and then every 10,000 or so. Can be accomplished with the factory repair manual fairly easy if it has adjustable rocker arms, not so easy if the valve lash requires shims for adjustment. If it requires shims that involves removing the cams, but still can be accomplished with few special tools and following the repair manual. Good luck!
