I have a YAMAHA TDM

Not 100 % sure but I would take the fuel select valve out and clean it. It sounds like you have something blocking the valve opening. Since it is the side of the valve you don't use all the time it can gum up.

Change spark plugs YAMAHA TDM 850

you get a sparkplug spanner which is capable of holding the plug in a small rubber ring inside the socket itself. there are lots of different sizes so ensure it is the correct one for the plugs, best way to do this is to buy new plugs via make and madel of bike, then ask for plug spanner to fit onto them ensuring it will also fit into the cylinder head, making sure that vwhen you reinsert them you dont cross the thread as this will need a full rebuild of the top of your ebngine. good luck.

Yamaha yivid red

No car paint will match the Yamaha, you need to find the paint code for your bike from the dealer, or remove a panel and take it to an automotive paint shop and they will help you match the colour

Where is the battery in a yamaha 850 tdm located

I must first say i havent done a battery change on a T.D.M. 96-97 for a very long time. I probably try and avoid it like the plauge there a pain in the ****.
First lift the tank up and clamp the two fuel pipes leading to the petrol **** or switch. Take the pipes off at the petcock fuel valve or switch and remove the tank. Then unbolt the diaphram type fuel pump and move to one side. Undo battery live cable from starter relay and wrap with insulation so as not to short to the any metal part .Now unbolt the ground on the frame and pull both through to use as a means to remove the battery. Now look under the sub frame , between the shocker and the frame is the battery box.It will have two 10mm bolts holding the battery box in place and a plastic dowl at the bottom. Unbolt the two 10mm,s lift battery box off dowl and tilt the bottom towards the shocker then pull the battery out by the two leads. To rebuild reverse the procedure dont forget to put the leads back on the new battery before refitting. Also the two 10mm,s can be a bit of a problem if they are seized so take your time and try not to snap them

Can I obtain a service and repair manual through

I'm not really sure how the system works on this site regarding manuals. Seems to be mostly adverts for auto stuff, however if you click on the motorcycle icon for your question, all problems/solutions for that bike will come up. Scroll down for the manuals section and just try the links.
Failing that, ebay, secondhand bike retailers and bike wreckers often have them, and cheap.
Clymer and Haynes sell over the counter workshop manuals at larger accessories stores and dealers.
Of course, you could order one from Suzuki, but be prepared for an inflated price.
This site below has free downloads for your model but years 91,92 and 2000 only, at this time.
Goodluck and Cheers.

Hello, my 1998 TDM 850

It sounds like you just need to flush your engine and clear out the sight gage.Get some good motor flush and a can of Marvel Mystery Oil. Go ahead and pour in the motor flush and Marvel.Run the bike at idle and about 2500 rpm back and forth for about 5 mins or so constant. Then drain it all out and replace with clean oil and filter. That should clear out whatever gunk you have in the engine.

Before replacing it, check the tensioner...it may be broken. Also check the guides. Make sure the cam sprockets aren't loose or cracked.
