Check the oil level. If you are lucky there was too much oil and this may have been some blow by. More likely though, you may have blown a piston ring. If this is the case, you will have to overhaul the engine or drop in a new one. By the way, was the bike laying on the right side for any length of time?

To access the battery, you will need to remove the saddle. The rear part of the saddle is held in place with an allen head bolt and the front part of the saddle is held in place with a ringed nut.

Remove the allen head bold holding the rear part of the saddle in place. Lift up and back to remove this part of the saddle. Now you will see a bolt with a slotted ring around the circumferance of the smooth head. The bolt head is at the bottom of what you can see. You will have to use an open-end wrench to remove this one (a socket will not work on this). Both wrenches you need are in your tool kit that came with the bike. Once this is off, remove the front saddle by lifting up and backward. You will see the battery under the seat.

You will need to use a coolant that is compatible with an aluminum radiator. Xerex anti-freeze claims to be compatible with aluminum radiators. Be aware that the wrong anti-freeze, especially alchohol based will destroy your radiator in short order. Your best bet is to read the label for yourself.

Your mixture will be:
1.6 U.S. Pints (750 ml) Coolant
1.6 U.S. Pints (750 ml) DISTILLED Water.

At first glance sounds like the battery is bad. The voltage you read across a battery with no load is not a good way to test. Batteries should always be load tested. Also if you still have the original battery from a 2003 bike you definitely need to replace it.

had an intruder that kept fouling the plugs when it got hot. turned out carbs were not in sinc, you might have that checked.

the fuse box is located behind the rear engine cover,right under the toolbox side cover

really pretty easy,the front you have to pop off the neck cover,the rear you have to remove the seat,and bolt from back of fuel tank and lift it up,then you can get to them pretty easy

do you have an after market air filter?or pipes?

Yes you probably need carb cleaning also its a good measure to drain the oil because if gas over time it does happen that gas will seep past the carb or carbs and into the cylinders and into the crankcase mixing with the oil.

1/Try using high coolant concentration even pure coolant without water mixture for a couple of days up to 2 weeks, see if you can see any coolant droplets forming around your reservoir wall or leaky area, OR,
2/Take off your coolant, fill it with colored water, cap it and pressurize with a hand pump, this may show the leakage but be careful do not put more than 5-7 psi, OR,
3/ Buy Rad leak stopper from automotive store, add to coolant reservoir proportionately, use bike as normal and everyday in the next 2-5 days keep checks if it still leaks. I doubt it will leak.

10w40 standard motorcycle oil will work fine.

Check battery voltage ... if it is not 11.5 or more - replace it.

The only thing you didn't mention was the carburetor float bowl. There's a drain screw on the bottom.

I'm not convinced, however, that fuel injector cleaner in your fuel tank is going to cause any harm. But it would depend a lot on how much cleaner was poured in - and how much fuel was in the tank. Too strong a concentration could, I suppose, cause poor engine operation - or damage to any plastic or rubber parts inside the carburetor.

Did you drain the gas out before you stored it.

If its carb model, then the carbs probablt need taken off and cleaned.

If it fuel injected, the screens are probably plugged up....dump the gas and try fresh gas

depends on maker-german n italian rides r produced well--there r many companies thru out the world n much info available--air cooled engines wear out faster then liquid--always warm a bike up 1st n after a trip cool it down by ridin it slow-dont just shut it down-that helps alot--make sure proper oil is present-no ther not as long lived as cars
