You dont have any fuel shut off valve because you have fuel injection which uses an electric fuel pump inside the gas tank all you need to do is buy a fuel additive called stabil and add the appropriate amount to the gas and you will have no problem. Make sure you fill your tank all the way up. because if you leave it like half way the upper half gets condensation and moisture . so just fill it up add stabil take out your battery and bring it in the house so it stays warm and dry and you will be good to go in the spring.

Most rear shocks are adjustable by turning the bottom parts of the spring perch the spring is more stiff. The front forks are not adjustable.

needs a new wire or the lugs might have a lot of corrosion but i would still get a new starter relay also.

An engine needs spark, fuel and air to run. The first thig to check is that you are getting spark to all cylinders. If you do not have spark then it is an ignition problem. If you do have spark then it is either a fuel, air or timing problem.

If you do not know how to check for spark you should be able to find instructions very easily, its a simple proceedure.

If you can follow it by hand it"ll lead directly to the starter!

Why don't you first remove the spark plug and check for sparks..it probabley could be just tht it may have fouled up (spark plug).

Did you check the fuse at the starter relay?
This is main system fuse and not in the fuse panel with the other sub-system fuses.

It is the plug with the number 4 written on on the very bottom of the crankcase.

This is an air problem. You have an air leak(s) between the carb(s) and the cylinder. This leans the fuel mix and causes the racing problem. Rubber / plastic seals, "o" rings and manifold ducts get old and cracked and just don't seal well at the clamps any more.

May be a fuel filter. Bike runs for a while then stops.
coils do this too. Only way to check is to replace it (or them)

You have bent shift forks my friend. You can take it to the dealer for $$$$ or ask a mechanic in the shop if he fixes bikes at home. This will cost a lot less. My guess is $600.00. Get a firm price before the work starts.

Sounds like a charging issue. First check all wires and make sure they are clean and making good contact, then check for proper voltage at the battery. I ride a harly so I don't know the exact voltage to look for but it most likly is around 13V at the battery if it isn't you need to look at your voltage regulator and stator.

From the Service Manual, the last link When the motorcycle tips over, the tip-over sensor sends a signal to the ECM. Then, this signal cuts OFF current supplied to the fuel pump, fuel injectors and ignition coils. Sensor G on Page 30. sounds like a stuck starter solinoid ! replace it !

Question moved from Television and Video category. I found this for VL800 manual states 185 to 242 psi nominal compression for either VL 800 engine. Add a dessert spoon of clean engine oil and do the compression test again. Was the alternator output cable moved from its original position ?

if it's the gasket i think you mean i always use 'Maniseal' (a white exhaust cement) with these seals/gaskets as they can be notoriously fickle to seal properly & try to torque the bolts/nuts to the correct settings too-imperative !
