A click is usually the starter solenoid. If not enough voltage from the battery, the starter can't turn over the engine. Is there no crank to manually start it? Do the headlights glow brightly? Try some of the Suzuki Intruder owners groups and forums. They often have bikes being sold for parts and can be cheaper that buying from dealers and parts stores. There are some companies out there that can service these displays or replace the LCD section only. You would have to seriously research these companies before you have any work like this done. So basically... A brand new unit from a dealer. An aftermarket unit from and auto parts store. A used part from a bike dismantler or an owner breaking a bike for parts. Finding an LCD Specialist to strip and rebuild the LCD display.

Check if power is leaving solenoid to starter while cranking. If starter is getting power to it's power terminal but not turning over,see if you can turn engine over by hand. Check sprage clutch assy into engine also. On my bike there is a flat washer spacer that can away into engine if I am not careful,can jam in gearing.
