How to remove and replace the throttle grip on a motorcycle

If you are just replacing the grip it's a matter of cutting off the old one, soaking the new one in hot water, perhaps applying some contact cement and sliding the new one on. If you're replacing the whole assembly, it's pretty straight forward, undo the mounting hardware and it comes apart, then it's a matter of reversing the procedure. It gets a little goofy with everything kinda hanging there, but I'm confident you can do it. It will only go together and function the right way, just a little patience. NOW is a great time to apply a penetrating solution and working it into the cable to keep it sliding smooth and rust free. If you have any concerns write back and we'll walk through it.

Suzuki rf600r cant get it started?

That\'s pretty broad question. Engines require three things, fuel (good fuel), spark and compression. Probably half the problems I see nowadays is bad fuel. They don\'t make gas like they used to.Here\' what I do. I try to start a stubborn engine first with spraying starting fluid in the carb, if starts briefly or at least tries to start, that tells me immediately I have a fuel problem. If it doesn\'t at least "spit" I look at ignition. Begin with absolutely fresh good gas. NOTHING oxyegenated (10% ethanol). Premium usually pure. Drain all your gas, look for a drain at the bottom of your carb bowls, usually at the very bottom with a hose running down off of it. Fill it, be sure your battery is fresh. Before starting take a minute to check your spark.I made a handy tool with a spark plug attached to a battery charger clamp, which I clamp to ground and attach the wire and spin the motor, see if I have a nice blue spark. All this good, I retry starting it.Is your battery good and the starter spinning as it has? Bad batteries and starters can lead to not providing enough power to adequately provide the ignition system. Give these tips a try and write back explaining your troubles in detail; does it spin slow, start and die, back fire etc.

I have a RF Suzuki 600R 1993, cant get it to start. Is their a logic reason?

it has interlock system between kickstand gearbox and clutch. No you don't have to be sitting, in neutral with kickstand down it'll start, in gear, with clutch in and kickstand up, it'll start

You have to take apart the handle to get at the cable the nut on top will only adj the cable tension too much and the throttle will be too high once u have the throttle handle apart u will have to take it off the grip and u will have access to oil it . Work it as u oil but not to much oil that it goes into the carbs good luck

What diifference will it make to my speedo reading if my front tyre is size 120/60 ZR17 instead of 120/17 ZR17 on m1993 suzuki rf600r bike

If I am reading the tire size right you are dealing with a different width and not circumference. If in fact it is width it want make any difference, however, if it is circumference then if the tire is smaller the transmission is going to have to turn faster to get 50 MPH or any speed. The speed of your car is measured at the back of our transmission. Smaller tires will make the speed-0-meter read fast and larger tires will give you a slow reading. This is the one that will get you in trouble. With a larger tire and you meter reading 50 you might be doing 60 or more. You can figure the speed of any tire on a car just take the circumference of the tire [how many inches it travels in one revolution] and divide it into 5280' for miles then Multiply it by T=time taken to travel distance then figure in the RPM's and drive your self crazy trying to figure it out. Again as I said if they are the same circumferance then your speed -o- meter will not change. Col. Dana Gillespie

What is the correct vertical headlight height [in millimetres] for my 93 Suzuki rf600r motorcycle, with tyre size 120/60 ZR17

I wouldn't as concerned about specs as function. Simply park your bike say, 25 feet from a closed garage door or wall and observe where the light is shining. If your new tire is a bit taller, lower the light, shorter raise it up. When you ride, adjust it to your needs and wants, just take into account you don't want the light shining up and left to annoy other drivers.

Fixya

In cars, you place vehicle 10 or 20 feet away from a wall and measure up from the ground with lights on and adjust the height and spread of beams to get a focal point. On your bike, I would find another bike similiar to yours and do the same thing. Just park pace out 20 steps heel to toe and make a mark on ground of front wheel and then mark beam height. Then take your bike and place it in same position and adjust accordingly.
