1991 Suzuki VS 1400 Intruder Questions & Answers
Bike won't start.
Try a jumper cable from a car. If that works, you probably have a bad battery. They can fail suddenly like that.
If a jump doesn't work, then you're probably looking for a bad ignition switch.

94 intruder 1400 wont start
Ok you have done all that is needed so far but as I understand you are saying that it is trying to turn over? How fast does it turn over? And do you have spark? Test the plugs by pulling one of them out at a time and grounding it to the engine and try turn the engine over a couple secounds while looking at the plugs. You should have a bright blue spark form all plugs. If you are needing any more help let me know.
I noticed a button on
possibly.
some bikes will let you start with the stand down, as long as the clutch is in, same with it in gear.
some bikes wont let it start at all in gear, or with the stand down.
All suzukis usually work the same.
I'm having trouble bleeding the clutch lines
Clutch mastercyliner needs a reseal kit , usually the ram seal is allowing fluid to pass as you pull the lever instead of forcing fluid down the line ,new seals will sort it out. Also check banjos and clutch slave cylinder seals to make sure thay are not leaking (also the lines) if they are replace slave seals and copper washers, or do them all to revive the hole system and never look back
No resistance on clutch lever
Adjust the clutch then. The clutch plates and the clutch cable both wear during use If you have a hydraulic clutch you will need to check the clutch fluid reservoir.
Lights keep blowing the fuse
You can pull the light apart and check the amperage they require since they are not the factory headlights they most likely have a higher amp requirement and find out what that is and then install the proper required fuse for them. Also be sure to check and see if the wires are properly hooked up and wrapped properly and are not grounding out on any metal or other wires. This should solve your problems. Might also want to see if the headlight relay is also the proper one to cover the amps they require as well. Hope this works for u and good luck
My 1987 Suzuki Intruder VS1400 runs great.
Alternator, rectifier or regulator. Chances are greater that it's the electronics rather than the coils. Check the AC voltage going into the electronics, and then check the DC voltage exiting it.
The easiest way to check if the battery is charging is to put a volt meter on the battery.
See if the voltage increases when you rev the engine beyond the battery's engine-off voltage.
Suzuki 1400 intruder wont start.. just clicking noise.
It's most likely the connection to the battery. The screws dont tighten in well and you get the famous clicking....I replaced the stock philips screws with a hex bolt and after two years of trying to solve the problen have been starting everytime for the past year no problems. Another gie away is the intermitant starting problem gets worse when wet.
How to remove 1991 1400 intruder seat
If you have the factory seat here is a view out of the service manual. You probably have to take the passenger seat off first to remove the two bolts holding the back of the drivers seat down then it should just slide back and off.
