is oil level up to par? make sure kill switch is set to run,(sometimes water or corrosion will make contact in the switct when it is in run) TEST ALL(ignition) fuses.replace any that do not work.
On my 05 kx250,im changing the fork seals-do you
The best way to fill fork oil is to add the specified amount and let the forks sit overnight to allow all entrained air escape. Leave the fill plugs off. Ofter you let the air escape, plug it up install the forks and add air to the desired pressure if has that option.
OK my 125 cc dirt bike the gas tank was leaking so
Hi
Both seized.
For the gas tap, spray CRC lube on it, leave for an hour then gently use grips to move it.
For the clutch, need to know if its the cable or interanl clutch. Disconnect cable from engine and try, if OK its internal. If its clutch cable remove from bike and try to spray / fill cable and leave elevated for and hour / day. Then start see sawing cable to free up.
I have a 200 KX 250 that I need to fix the shroud
you can use a thing called a nutsert. it works like a rivet. it leaves a steel thread captivated in the hole. i have used these 100s of times.they are brilliant. but you will need a special riveter to put them in.
Bought a used 88 cr250 and like and idiot i didnt
sounds like you need a clutch. Yes the friction plates should move a bit when you pull your clutch lever in that is how the clutch works what oil are you running in you tranny and have you tried adjusting the clutch cable? When you had your clutch apart what did the friction plates look like was there much meat left on them?
My 1991 kawasaki starts and runs till u put it in gear

its a safty idear to stop you pulling away with the side stand still down! (only an idiot would do that???)
(mind you, i did it, and payed the price for it as well?)
have a look under your bike side stand, if you have one pull off both wirers and short them together if this works,, fix the switch!!!!
What is the oil mixture ratio for a 2005 kawasaki
Use TWO STROKE ENGINE OIL in the pump. If not using an automatic oil pump, then mix the gas and oil 32 to 1. That equals 4 ounces of TWO STROKE ENGINE OIL to one gallon of gas. NEVER use motor oil in the gas. Only two stroke engine oil.
2005 KX250 GEAR OIL CAPACITY
hi mate fill it till it is half way on the sight glass but dont just pour it in just do it bit by bit cuz it may fill slowly good luck bud
I have a 2005 kx 250 2 stroke and it keeps eating plugs
NGK brand spark plug BR8ECMVX is the stock plug for the bike. The proper gas / oil mix is 32 to 1. That means 4 ounces of 2 stroke oil per gallon of gas. The posting was not clear as to just what the problem is. If you are burning up plugs there may be a air leak in the intake system making the bike run lean. A lean fuel mix runs hot.
My dirtbike clutch doesnt work right
Make sure that the cable is still working and hasn't broken from freezing up since it was parked. Had the clutch been causing any problems in the past? This clutch is not adjustable at the base where it mounts to the engine. Adjust the cable if needed from the handle. If this doesn't help, then it sounds like an internal problem. This would require taking off the right side of the motor. Just get a new gasket, and a clutch kit. The basket might be able to be saved with emory cloth. You can get a clutch kit at bikebandit.com
When i pull the clutch on my dirt bike it doesn't
First, get a new clutch cable. Tape the new cable to the old one and unhook the old one. Now you have a new cable and a reserve cable ready for use if needed during a race.
Second, change gearbox oil and install a new oil filter if your bike has one. All the dirt and grit in the oil is binding the clutch. Ride the bike for a couple of hours using the clutch often. Now drain the oil again and put in fresh oil. This will flush out the dirt and grit. Use 10w40 motor oil. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell.
