the floates are probally stuck open.. you can tap on the float bowl with the blunt side of a screw driver and see if it stops.. if not you will need to pull the card off and take the float bowl off and see why they are sticking

Take the recoil cover off, loosen the tensioner screws, and hold the crankshaft in place with your mark in the right position. I hope this helps you out!

Black and white is ground
White and black is Brakes
Brown is Running

looking at the wiring diagram i think thats right, if you have a new light hook the ground definitly to Black and white (mainly black with a white streak) and then take turns with the other 2 wires until the less bright one is always on and the bright one is on when the brake pedal is down.

probably the stator. It can be tested with an ohm meter, but you need to call a dealer to get the correct readings and wires to check across.

hi,might be able to help,a compression test would be a good start,however,if you already have the engine apart,replace the rings anyway,if the engine has been overheated the rings although they look ok will have lost their tension and therefore their ability to hold sufficent pressure against the cylinder walls,therefore allowing blowby,or compression leakage,the other area i would look is the condition of the valve seals and seats,both intake and exhaust,if the engine has been overheated,the seals may have cracked or become weak,whenever i have my race bike apart with the head off i always relap the valves(just a light cut)and this ensures a good seal through the head etc,hope all this helps...cheers ian

i do believe that its easier to replace the silynoid with the starter out of the machine that is if it isattached to the start other wise no if its like most kawasaki four wheelers you need to disconect the abttery and then trace the main power to the silynoid and disconect it there also and then remove and install new silynoid

ok buddy strip carb off and 4 screws on the bowl and inside you will see the float slide the pivot pin out holding the float in and the float will come off with the inlet fuel valve still attached take this off and the tab it was still connected on you need to bend that down wards to allow more fuel in the carb and into the engine or another thing could be the main jet blocked check the jet first blow down it if ok do the float bit and get back to me 2774fd5.jpg

check the carbs float height if to high will keep blowing spark plugs also do the fuel/air mixture screw it will say in the manual e.g 2 1/2 turns out this means screw this screw right in and unscrew the correct amount off turns also make sure your running the correct plug as i have used too cold plugs and have kept blowing try a hotter plugeg br8es <cold br9es<hotter good luck bud

I personally run 11 psi in the front and 12-13 psi in the rear but it is all based on riding style, technique, and personal preference. What do you mean by shifting pattern.
I think it is
1st all the way down
neutral half click up from first
2nd 1 click up from 1st
and so on.

You said the motor cut out and popped and backfired when it quit, this is almost always one of two things; either the low speed pulse coil or the actual CDI "black" box. You will almost never lose a main coil. One thing I would also check to make sure did not happen is shearing a flywheel mag key. When the motor backfires you can easily shear a mag key if you have a heavy flywheel, (external). However when this happens you don't usually lose spark but it will certainly cause the backfire.
One other item of importance is that the bike you are in question about does not emit a bright spark when you are checking for fire. Make sure you are using a brand new plug and ground it on the head. Try to make sure you are in a dark environment when you check the spark.

The battery may be going bad. Try new spark plugs first. Carbon on the old plugs can rob spark.

take plug out and rotate the motor in gear, place a screw driver in the pot and feel it moveing up n down stop when it hits the top, can use a spanner on the crank nut

Often times this is caused due to the line being too old/damaged and needs to be replaced. Also check the condition of the clamps if any on the line to ensure they still smug up. In cases where the bike is fuel injected, their is a pump inside the tank that can have hoses rupture internally. These can be a chore to replace, but with proper tools, and patience they can be done at home.

it sounds like the needle is sticking in the seating area,pull the carby apart agian take the float out and underneath shold be the needle and seat ,if it has a rubber needle end may need to replace if you can not clean it out properly,and check the rubber diagphram on the slide ,you can damage the diagphram buy blowing air into the carby,if that has a rip in it replace the slide cheers

I'm not familiar with all quads and all the kill switch locations. Does it have a tip-over kill switch? Is it working? Is the quad in neutral? Is the neutral light on? Many engines will not spark if the neutral light is not on. Are the headlights off when starting?

How good is your battery? A low battery can kill spark. Test for spark by grounding the threads of the plug against the cylinder. Have a friend kick the bike while you watch for spark. Assuming no spark, then check all the kill switches with an Ohmmeter to be sure each switch is working properly. Sometimes a switch goes bad. Try disconnecting all kill switches then check spark.

Check the wiring harness, even under the gas tank and seat. Are all the connectors clean and with a tight connection? Any abraded wires? Check the ignition switch also. The switch can go bad as well. Are the flywheel coils good > is the battery getting a charge?

Still no spark? If CDI then get it checked.
If points then file or replace them along with a new condensor and reset the gap then time the engine. >> I hope this helps.
