I have a third gear that slips out, is that common

tommy, i dont recall that being a common problem with that bike, if you bought the bike used the last owner may have been speed shifting it some call it power shifting, you may have to have cases split in order to fix problem. when you say slips out can you still up shift to next gear.

1998 ZX9R C1: Fairing damage. What do I fix it with?

ello mate,, well theres some basturds about ay,, this happened to me once,, any way,, to bond a crack or build up a hole, turn the fairing round so u r lookin at the back of it, rough the crack or hole up with some sand paper,, then get your self some fibre glass matting wad,,and some resin, and hardener, using scissors cut the matting out to shape mix up some resin and apply to the back of the fairing,, this is messy stuff ,,but will bond it well,,then turn it over ,,if u still have a visible crack and want to repair that,, then run a grinder down the crack ,,so it widens the crack just a bit ,,and fill it with isopon filler,, just the normal kind of filler, for dents etc,,

Cant find where the spark plugs ara for 1998 ninga 900

sounds like you may have flooded the carbs...try starting with no choke and no throttle. To check for a spark you will have to remove the seat and then the tank to access the spark plugs. Heres a link to the workshop manual for a reference guide, hope it helps, if it does please rate me.

My 098 ninja won't click

perhaps you damaged the starter button or pinched a wire somewhere? check all wiring and connections, switches, buttons. if your bike a fuse block, check all appropriate fuses. if all these things are working properly, break out a multi-meter and check for continuity thru all wires associated with the ignition, fuse block, battery, and if all else fails, check out the starter, it may have been damaged somehow(excessive heat, liquids such as oil water brake fluid, or possibly metal shavings?) i dunno. but before you try everything i mentioned, listen to what the man above my post (FTjoe) has said. hope you get it back on the road bud. ride safe!

Crankshaft bearing and conrod bearing problems

pull the plugs and see if you can turn the engine over if you can then it is hydraulic lock from fuel leaking into the chamber onto the top of the piston so you problem will be fuel and injector related if it is still seized then that indicates a lack of lubrication and the mechanics doing the repair initially where not sufficiently interested in find out why the bearing failed in the first place bearings on crank shafts fail mainly from not enough oil pressure / supply --pump or pick up failure or lack of quality oil in use or from excessive pressure -- pump relief valve jammed and not operational when that happens the pressure can reach pressures that will remove the metal in the bearings around the oil holes and that will lead to blockages in the oil galley Talking with the repair shop may get results but you can also contact the manufacturer direct to see if there were any service recalls / bulletins related to the failure Kwakas are reliable bikes with race bread engines so there is a problem that has not been properly diagnosed from the start and unfortunately that has set you back some money
