2003 Honda CBR 954 Fireblade not starting. Fuel pump isn't coming on. I checked everything, cranks but no start.

If your 2003 Honda CBR 954 Fireblade is not starting, and there is no power coming from the fuse block to the ignition, and the fuel pump isn't turning on, there could be several potential causes for the issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the Battery: Ensure that the battery is in good condition and fully charged. Low or weak battery voltage can prevent the fuel pump and ignition from receiving enough power to start the engine.
  2. Inspect Fuses: Check all the fuses in the fuse block to make sure none of them are blown. A blown fuse can cause a loss of power to critical components, including the fuel pump and ignition system.
  3. Check Ignition Switch: Test the ignition switch to see if it's functioning correctly. Faulty ignition switches can prevent power from reaching the ignition system and other electrical components.
  4. Inspect Wiring and Connectors: Check the wiring and connectors related to the ignition system and fuel pump. Look for any loose, damaged, or corroded connections that could be interrupting power flow.
  5. Fuel Pump Relay: Check the fuel pump relay, which is responsible for supplying power to the fuel pump. A faulty relay can prevent the fuel pump from turning on.
  6. Kill Switch and Side Stand Switch: Ensure that the kill switch and side stand switch are in the correct positions. These safety features can disable the ignition and fuel pump if not in the proper state.
  7. Tip-Over Sensor (Bank Angle Sensor): Some motorcycles have a tip-over sensor that cuts off power to the fuel pump and ignition if the bike tips over. Check if the sensor is functioning correctly.
  8. ECU (Engine Control Unit) Issues: There could be a problem with the ECU, which controls the engine's electronic functions. Faulty ECU or its related sensors could be preventing the engine from starting.
If you have checked all the above and still cannot identify the issue, it's recommended to seek the assistance of a qualified motorcycle mechanic or Honda dealership. They have the expertise and diagnostic tools to pinpoint the problem accurately and perform the necessary repairs to get your Honda CBR 954 Fireblade back on the road.

Heya i just bought a

If it has an aftermarket Fuel Injection programmer (like a dynojet powercommander), it may have lost its programming. Some of the older systems used a serial connection to upload/save FI programming...some newer ones use USB. You would need to identify if you have one - what model it is - then determine what map it needs and upload accordingly. Sometimes the FI on the bike needs a reset or determine the code being generated. Here is a forum that lists the procedure: http://www.fireblades.org/forums/articles-honda-fireblade/100273-2000-cbr929rr-fi-light-red-light-please-help.html Good Luck.

Fitted a new battery now it wont start fuel pump not priming

Sounds like the pump could be faulty or the fuse for it blown? Check fuse first, if ok,check the wiring plug to pump , make sure it has power. All that fails take out pump and test on bench see if faulty? Good luck........

Red light comes on when i turn the power on my 2003 cbr 954 then when i start the bike it goes off is this ok?

Are you talking about the oil light? If yes, of course it is ok. IT is on because there is no oil pressure. There is no oil pressure because the oil pump is not running, nor is the alternator, BTW. Might I suggest to you you get to know about your motorcycle before you put on many more miles. Find and read the owners manual. Any thing you dont understand, find out. Your life depends on it.Thank you for your interest in FixYa.com

The Fuel Injection sensors have detected a problem in the system. Ride to a dealer and have them hook up a code reader. The reader will tell what the problem is. Minor problems you can fix yourself. Major problems require the shop to handle.

Should my 03 honda cbr 954 stay running after I

The altenator combined with regulator should keep the engine running without a battery. It may run a bit lumpy but it should run.
You have either a regulator or an alternator fault.

Hi my bike was on

The bike must be in neutral when the kickstand is down or it will shut down. Its a safety feature.

Put the bike in neutral and it should fire right up.

If you can't get it out of gear, sit on the bike, put the kickstand up, pull the clutch in turn the key on and hit the start button, and it should fire right up.Make sure on/off button is on too.

If you tried that and it still clicks, check battery voltage, a low battery makes the solenoid click.
Make sure you have a clean battery terminals and tight terminals.
Check battery voltage. Most auto parts places will load test them for free.

If battery is good and it is in neutral and it still clicks, then the starter solenoid is bad.
replace the solenoid. And your bike should fire right up

I just bought a used 2002 honda 954 rr with 9300

Ha ha... same thing happend to me... Fill ur tank and run about a half a bottle of Sea Foam in your gas tank. However if this doesnt clear it up it can be ur fuel filter, air filter, or possible jet bowls. Try the sea foam first then air and fuel filter(do these at the same time less time consuming to do together and if you just bought it you need to do it anyway). At last if this does not fix ur problem bring it to a shop because there are a lot of small peices to the injectors and i wouldnt recommend trying to fight that monster with no knowledge of the engine.

High Idle speed 3-4000 rpm. I

Have you tried turning the idle right down and then starting it? Have you adjusted the idle adjustment screws around the TB? You could force the idle down by rolling off the throttle at idle (forcing the throttle more closed than it naturally sits). The manual says not to **** with any of the screws on the throttle bodies .IT will mess up the idle. Also check the IAC Valve. It may be malfunctioning. This is a small valve, which allows a certain amount of air (controlled by the ECU) to bypass the throttle plates, which is probably why the manual states not to adjust the throttle stop screws (because the ECU can adjust the IAC Valve position to supply however much air is required for proper idle). The other things to be checked for High Idle is :-- Other things very quickly off the top of my head: - MAP Sensor? - Check all your fuses (this only takes a few seconds and is a worthwhile check) - vacuum lines? - maybe a throttle body or intake manifold gasket? (if it is damaged then the engine could be pulling in more air than is registered by the MAP sensor. This could lead to a slightly higher idle and lean running. If it becomes excessive, the engine should stall). Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.
