Check fuse- check operation of fan by unplugging and manually applying 12 volts- does it spin?. IS the bike heating up?.. some bikes will not kick in the fan unless the bikes getting very hot. Also check output of the temperature switch- does it change state from open to grounded or open to short

Sound like you have a faulty fuel pump that is about to go out or possibly have a clogged screen. Either way, the bike is starving for fuel when you attempt to accellerate, but is just getting enough to start and idle.

you need to change your oil and filter.
a clogged oil filter will eventually bypass and let dirty oil through.
if clogged bad it will effect oil pressure by a pound or two and hence the oil light coming on.

if oil and filter are new, then check your code with the service department at the dealer or check your manual to determine what the code means.

Check that the oil pressure switch it working too. The wire may be loose, connecting to the switch itself. Thats usually noticed by a flickering oil light.

If all that is good then you have oil pump issues, oil flow issues, which should be unlikely due to the year.

FI stands for Fuel Injection. The fuel system sensors have detected a problem. It could be anything > a dirty air filter restricting airflow, a plugged injector, an error in fuel mapping, any number of things. You will need to take the bike to a Honda dealer to have them plug in a code reader. The code reader will tell you exactly what the problem is. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

It comes on every time the oil pressure falls below a preset level. If you are running out of oil (because the level is low), then 1) shame on you for not checking the oil level frequently! It's not like you have to lift the hood, or anything hard like that, and 2) don't drive it at all until you get some oil in there!

If you have plenty of oil, then you could have a stuck oil pressure relief valve, a blocked oil pickup, a worn out oil pump, an unbelievably clogged oil filter, or an internal oil leak (from a crack, or something coming loose).

In a water cooled car, the water only does 60% of the cooling. Another 20% is by aire passing over the engine surface, and the rest is carried to the oil sump to be cooled by air passing over the pan. Motorcycles have highly finned oil sumps for a reason: They shed a lot of heat through the oil. If you are low on oil, you will be low on cooling, too.

If you fill up with oil, but you still overheat, you probably have an excessively lean fuel mixture. If that is the case, and you let that continue, this bike won't last very long.

I just checked and found that this is a water cooled engine. So yes, you probably need coolant -- check into that right away. If the water pump gets dry even for a split second, the seals (lacking the lubrication that the water provides) will be destroyed -- it happens instantly.

it sounds like fuel vapersing,and starvation,air filters clogged up air leak on carb inlets

Can you do the work yourself? Otherwise, it'd probably be R 10,000, if you've got a shop you trust.

crack the bleed valve to release the pressure, there may be damage to the caliper mount

Put a full can 16 oz of Seafoam in the gas tank full of fuel and ride it. It may be a dirty carb. If it has a fuel filter replace it also check the air filter.

2 blinks is a MAP sensor performance problem.
Check the MAP sensor vacuum hose connections if its ok then you will need the ECM test harness cable from Honda to diagnose further.

You should look to eBay for cheap used parts.Don't re-straightthe forks if they have any distinguished bumb on their surface.Only if the bend they have is smooth and if only you cannot feel anything by rubbing your finger against their surface.

Without the fairings the plugs should be pretty accessible. Get a new set of stock plugs from the dealer. Since you are already there anyway, have them show you how to install the new plugs.. Talk to them about the starting problem and get their thoughts.

If you dont have a manual call a dealership or you can put a quart in and check the stick by adding a half quart at a time till its full
