MC Dies upon ANY throttle application. HELP!
Odds are that if it sat for a year with fuel in it, the carb may be gummed up. Opening the throttle will cause an immediate engine stop if it is not getting fuel.
I'd recommend a "clean out the carb" project, including using air to blow out allof the small orifices.
Rear brake will not release
caliber pistons are dirty.remove them.use brake fluid with wet sand paper.sand them lightly.reassemble--bingo.
Backfiring and trouble starting
If you change the exhaust pipes, you have to sync the carbs (if you cant sync them, you have to change the carb jets), usually it is backfiring because the carbs are not in balance.

Adjust ride height for 1996 honda shadow 600
If you take off the seat you will find the mono shock for it...I just did this today for my girlfriends bike...if you have a tool kit for the bike look for the tool that most resembles a hook, (the name of the tool escapes me). Also have a repair manual from Haynes helps too.
The bike won't start.
sounds to me as though your battery is very low on power, either that or your starter motor is stuck and wont turn which will pull loads of amps from battery and possibly dim headlight to nothing.
How to remove the seat of a honda shadow vt600c
There are two screws located beneath the seat on the left and right side of the bike. Look at the space in between the passenger's seat and the saddle with a light. You will need an allen wrench with a little bit of length.
Fuses are good but no
check along the wiring loom or near the light with a multimeter for a bad earth that might be your porblem
I need help changing a seal on the front
If it is leaking, often there is wear the will need to be addressed, or leaks return quickly. Consider pulling the tubes and drop them off at a bike shop, where they have the bushings and special tools needed to do that job...
I have a 84' honda 700 shadow and have cleaned
Hello,
Bring up the Idle screw about 1/4 turn, until desired idling.
If the problem presist, you might have a sync. problem. When you cleaned it out, you might have turned a screw to far to left or right.
If you didn't yank the the plunger from the float when you cleaned it. Then more than likly the setting didn't change. Check the seat on the plunger (rubber that meets with metal). The one that is connected with the float (it sometime has a build up of **** on it, and the seat). Go through it again. Sometime, (unintetionaly of course) a bit of dirt in the bowls. Partialy bloking a jet, needle another passage (fun times to be had)!
