1996 Honda RVF 400 NC35 how to change the fork seals @

This type of R/R is what I call a straight monkey see...monkey do repair. Undo the drain screw on each fork and drain oil. The bike must be high enough off the ground to slide the sliders off unimpeded. From there let pressure off via the schrader valves on the forks, if so equipped. Remove wheel and unbolt anything attached to sliders because these must be taken to the bench. At the bottom of each slider, remove bolt and slide the slider off fork tube. Take slider to bench and remove internal snap ring and carefully pry the old seals out without damaging anything. Grease the new seals and carefully tap seal into slider evenly. A deep well socket can be used to tap it all the way in. From there it's reverse procedure. Add fork oil to specs.

Honda rvf 400 1994 5000rpm problem

You were probably right when you mentioned the carbs. The only probable electrical problem would be a coil no longer being able to consistantly generate spark faster than 5000 rpm.

Your bike is 15 years old. It is probably time for a carb kit or two, BUT I would suggest you balance and sync the carbs to see if that takes care of the problem before I would do the carb kits. Also, if the fuel petcock, (gas valve), has a water trap bowl on the bottom of the bowl, remove the trap and check for water / rust / trash in the bowl. If you find anything other than gas then Drain one cup of gas from the tank to eliminate most of what was found.

Look to see if the petcock has a screen filter and clean it as well.
If you find any rust or other trash in the gas then get an inline fuel filter to clean up the trash. I would also run through a tank of premium fuel with a carb cleaning additive in the tank. Replaced your air filter lately?

Post a comment to ask more and to let us know how things turn out. I am hoping for a "FixYa" rating. Ride safe.

Handle bar vibration/shaking RVF400

Hi there!

I have the same problem but i finally had it fixed.
Your front rim is warped. Have it aligned. Balancing alone would not do the trick as this would only balance the wheel on its vertical axis. (assuming they were able to balance it properly)

Jack the front end up and turn the wheel.. Have a screwdriver or any thing that can serve as a guide with the rim, turn the wheel and if it touches the screw at some point of the turn , then the wheel is misaligned. A new stock rim would cost too much so have it aligned with a good machine shop.

To give you an idea of what im talking about:
www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle-tires/wheels/

There's also a chance that the fork fluids would cause this. Fluid levels should be equal. (less likely)

Hope this helps!
I'd appreciate a feedback!

Bike body maintance

ProClean is good stuff, but not worth the money. The only reason I had it was because I won a create of it at our clubs Supercross race, it's too expensive in my opinion. I buy 40 litre containers of stuff called TFR, which stands for Traffic Film Remover, it basically is a detergent like ProClean, Simple Green and all the others, only it costs a fraction of the price and isn't deluted. This means you can delute it to your own strength for different causes. You can see it removing dirt as you watch, like someone said above. You can not use it pure on the bike however, it will make alloy parts go dull - as my buddy found out lol.

Honda 500 TRX fa6 has PS on the dash….what does it mean ?

The Power Steering has failed. There has been a factory recall for a suddenly failing electrical steering shaft, that could cause the rider to loose control. This does not have to be your problem but anyhow either the electronics or the pump failed. Error codes or messages usually have to be erased by a simple reset procedure or disconnecting a plug, after repairs are done.

1985 Honda Gold Wing 1200. How can I get my clutch to release? It is so hard. Put a new master cylinder on it and pumped up. It is so hard and they've even bled it. How can I get it to release?

Question edited for clarity, but no idea what you mean by - "What do I need to do to get the gay? The clutching gauge in again?" You issue is probably that all the clutch plates are glued together. Leaving a bike for 21 years will do that. https://www.google.com/search?q=1985+Honda+Gold+Wing+1200+stuck+clutch ..
