1994 Honda CB250 Nighthawk Motorcycle. Hey guys I'm having problems with my 94 Honda CB250 starter won't engage.

Question edited for full 'year make model'. Question moved from Cars and Trucks to correct category. Well considering the parts you did change, did you check the starter button was passing power? The contacts inside can get worn out. and follow that wire through its various connector blocks. They can corrode. When I got bikes, I took the connectors apart and pushed Vaseline into the female side of the connector. Saves problems down the line. If that checks out, it is likely to be a faulty new solenoid. You can check it with a multimeter. It is basically an electronic switch that uses low amp power to operate and electronic solenoid to slap 2 contacts together carrying high amperage power to the starter contacts. If you remove the battery and the starter and connect the two and it doesn't turn, then your new starter is faulty. https://www.google.com/search?q=1994+honda+cb250+nighthawk+starter+not+engaging ..

1994 honda cb 250 takes a long time to come off the choke about 3 miles summer time

Hi, there are a few things that it could be,I would check you have the right spark plugs in it the number on the plug is important, if the number should be 9, and you've got a 12 in it, it won't keep the heat in it will disperse the heat faster the higher the number, then check that the idol jet is clean and the setting for the mixture is set, the work shop manual should give you a rough setting. I hope that helps.

Battery flat, not charging

The best thing to do is chk your charging system at the batt terminals w/engine running. The charge rate should be between 13,6 - 14.2 volts. THE HIGHER THE VOLTAGE, THE LOWER THE AMP S. iN TURN , LOWER VOLTS MEAN HIGHER AMPS. iF IT IS CHARGING AT 13V OR LOWER THE BATTERY IS NO GOOD. iF VOLTS ARE HIGHER THAN14.2V, tHE ALTERNATER IS BAD. Often a battery can be saved with a trickle charger, charging at a very low rate over a 48 hr. period. If the Alt charges at substained high output it can overheat and fail. Motor cycle alts. rarely fail because the engine oil removes the heat. So, Chk the battery fluids, slow charge for 24 hrs and repeat the voltage chk. _Good Luck_Ned_

I've just bought a 1994 Honda CB 250, private

If your cap is like any of the caps on the assortment of Honda's I have had over the years, it doesnt take a "key" per-ce, It just happens that your key will operate it ... just as will any thing that will fit into the slot. Press down on the cap and turn the key gently. The latch should retract and the cap pop right off. The key will stay in the cap until you put it back on.

If yours is a latch on the side (I doubt it), same is true ... insert the key, press down on the cap turn the key the cap will unlatch

Having said that ... I must also say to you ... that is my experience with Honda caps in my country. I don't know where you are and it is not necessary for you to say where.

Here is a web site you may find interesting, BTW: http://hrca.honda.com/

Good luck with your Nighthawk.

Honda CB250 will not start. It will turn over and

Valve clearance or camshaft timing. If you have no clearance on the intake valves at top dead center, then you will have no compression = no start.

I am leaking oil out of a little black box what is

I am guessing you mean the little black box that holds the air filter. The box is the air filter housing. Chances are the oil level in the gearbox is too high. And chances are it is too high because the oil has a lot of gas mixed in it. The gas can come from compression getting past the rings or from the fuel valve on the gas tank not getting turned off when the bike is not being ridden or from a bad fuel valve letting gas pass even though the valve is turned off. A bit of the excess oil/gas mixture gets carried out the gearbox vent tube and into the breather chamber, (PVC valve), then into the air cleaner housing. I suggest you do an oil change and do it as needed to eliminate the problem. Alternate to that is a top end job for $750 or so. But first check the fuel valve to be sure it is working properly. I'm looking at buying a 1994 CB250 with 45,000

The model plate on the frame neck will tell you where the motorcycle was made. If the bike is really cheap (under $500) and in great shape it is probably a good deal only because most riders only put 2000 or 3000 miles a year. If it lasts 10,000 miles, your can drive it 5 years with out too much trouble. Keep in mind you can probably buy a brand new 250 cc motorcycle for around $4000 new or With low miles for $2000 to $3500. Example : last winter I purchased 2009 Suzuki DR200 with 100 miles on it for $2400 (new $3899). It gets 80 MPG, will comfortably run at 55 mph, and will go on or off road This fall I purchased a 2009 EX250 with 900 miles on it for $2500 ( new would have been $4199). Stock it will do 100 MPH and get around 50 to 55 MPG, regeared it should get 80 MPG. Look hard in the off season to get good deals. Whether your 94 CB 250 is a good deal or not depends on the price you will pay compared to a different low mile used one or a brand new. If you have $4000 to $5000 to spend there are some great deals on 500cc past year, brand new, with warranty motorcycles on the showroom floors. Check it out.

What is the oil capacity

Capacity is between 1.3 and 1.8 liters. I know that is quite a gap, but it will depend on how much of the old oil you remove when performing an oil change on your Honda CB 250.

Need guidance to replace my front turn signal assemblies.

the connectors for the turn signals are behind the headlight, that is very easy to pull out, if u don't want to do that then just buy some wiring "****" connectors from Radio Shack and a crimping tool to install them and splice the wires from the old signals to the new ones, I have changed these lights and it is an easy job..

Motorcycle shuts off when put in gear

Usually this would be the side stand sensor. I would have thought that it would be normally closed circuit to operate though. Have you tried linking out the sensor wires? ie joining them together.
