Under seat or one of the side covers normally clip off and you should locate it there. By side cover I mean the plastic/glass fibre cover that is on either side of the bike just bellow the rider's seat. Hope that helps
Tempeture guage won't move past cold.
MAYBE, the bike isnt getting any warmer. You could check the bike with a thermometer ... you could replace the temp sensor ... you could test the heat sensor ... be prepared for coolant to come out when you remove the sensor. You should have the replacement OR a temporary plug to put in when you remove it. You will find more particulars at the Honda Rider Club web site.

Will the cylinder pump fluid at all? You should be able to at least get some pressure if it was correctly rebuilt, the plunger must be seated and all the air is out of the system...how did you bleed it? The best way is with a held held vacuum pump attached the bleeder. It takes very little air to make it not feel firm.

How do I clean the carbs on my 88 honda vt800
Carb cleaner is a great choice. First you will have to pull the carbs out. Just take a rag (not a paper towel) with some carb cleaner and wipe everything down as much as possible. if you want to clean the entire carb you will have to take it a part and clean everything. Just as a side note before you take it a part make sure you take plenty of photos so you know how to put it back together. Hope this helps. Good luck.
How do i remove the
Hi,
Behind the chrome helmet holder is a black l bracket. The bracket faces the bike. Turn the key like your going to put your helmet on the chrome bracket but instead reach behind it and pull the black bracket down. You'll hear the rear of the passenger seat click and the seat will lift slightly. Pull it up and back from the rear and it'll slide out. iIf you have a sissy bar (sorry, old school) you don't need to take it off. You'll see the plastic tool case holder. Between it and the front seat, are the bolts for the front seat. You can use a socket at an angle and they'll come off (be carefull not to drop them into the bike frame where they could get lost or damage something. You then lift the front seat from the back and it slides out like the back seat.
