Is it hard to fit a cylinderhead gasket to a cbr 600

I think it is motor out mate, but not ahard job, but first drain it then put some old oil in if you have any , run it up then add engine flush, run it up and then drain , ready for fresh, just follow the manual.

I have a 1987 cbr

The front forks are adjustable to the type of ride you want. First, set the rear shock to the setting you want soft, medium, or hard. There should be max pressure information in your owners manual and on a sticker on the front forks. Typically the most pressure that can usually be put into a Honda front fork is around 14 PSI. Add, carefully, 10-12 PSI using a hand or foot bicycle pump with a gauge on it. You will probably find this way too stiff. Be careful not to put too much pressure in the forks or you will pop the seals and have to replace them. Then with the bike loaded the way you are going to ride (soft for comfort or hard for two up riding) bounce on the seat. What you want to feel is the front and back suspension dropping at the same time. This is how racers set up there motorcycles for hard cornering. If both the front and rear of the cycle drop together you have an easier time controlling the bike during extreme maneuvers. Since the front is usually stiffer than the back(you added pressure there) slowly bleed the pressure out of the front fork tubes until the the front and back drop together while you are bouncing with the bike loaded the way you are going to ride. Now you are set up for extreme riding conditions. Soft or hard that is how you set up all motorcycle suspensions by balancing the the amount of front cushion/pressure to match the back cushion/pressure.

i own an 87 CBR myself and have never had the neutral light problem but the switch is located just in front countershaft sprocket and aft of the water pump area it'll have a small rubber boot on it and the manual says disconnect connector and then unscrew the switch, seems simple. Switch could be going bad. My bike normally runs about 1/2 to 3/4 on temp range and when it gets almost up to the double hash marks then the fans comes on. Usually the fan only comes on when its summer time and real hot out and in stop and go traffic. This is one of the reasons that California lets us lane split so that bike engine will be kept cooler with a constant flow of air over the motor. As far as the water pump goes you can check it for binding, but you'll have to take off the small drain bolt off the cover, then take of fuel tank take off and Radiator cap. Now take off the three main bolt that hold the cover down and pull off make sure gasket is in good condition now you should be able to spin the impeller blades and there shouldnt be any binding if there is you have to replace the pump. Now one more thing, the pumps shaft links directly to your oil pump drive shaft.. this is how the waterpump shaft moves.. by a drive chain turning the oil pump sproket inside the motor, so you might have to be in neutral to check it. if that doesnt work then just real quickly hit the start button while in nuetral and with stop/kill switch to off position so you can crank it to listen for that noise. also look at the inside of the water pump cover for scratch marks if you see any that means the blades probably got bent and might be rubbing on the cover. you can bend them back to proper position if you need clearance. Can i get a very helpful one this one..Thanks!

Wont start , engine turns over but dont seem to

check fuel pump fuse first..if good check fuel by pump taking off the line going to the carb and see if fuel comes out...use a gas can to catch the fuel in. if this all is good, now pull one of you plugs..let it stay connected and let it touch a frame bolt, start it up and look for a nice crisp bluish spark..if you see a weak purplish-red then you have a possible pulse generator problem like i did on my 87 hurricane. Pulse Gen is located on left hand side, you dont have to worry about oil..but there might be a little tiny bit in there dont worry about that..cover is very easy to take off...take a look at the pick-ups which will be located inside the cover, after i performed an ohm reading which told me one of them was bad, i visually saw why...it was burnt up. One way to prove that it is this is to see if it will bump start...my bike wouldnt start to save my life but it would start everytime i push started it. if your good at push starting give it a couple of tries. Make sure fuel on, kill switch on "key on", BIG caution, put choke to "normal"...(if bike is cold started, the bike will rev up to 2k or 3k and try to rip your arms from the handlebars, once bike starts then use choke) put in neutral, hold clutch in, Now run on the left hand side real fast.. dont rush to get your leg over the seat, you want to stand up on both pegs, pop the gear shift down to "first" now at the sametime you let the clutch out sit down on the seat and it will probably start sputtering and bucking, but thats o.k. its like jump starting the heart...it"ll take a few seconds for fuel to enter carbs and spark levels to build up to where it'll fire off....if the bike does this and starts and idles then you can illiminate carbs/ fuel and spark plugs/wires, kill switch ignition switch etc. Hope i get some good feedback, good luck.

Will a 1993 wheel fit the 1997 model

It should fit as it is the same dimensions, only thing is the 93 is cable driven and 97 isn't so the wheel spacers might not fit also the 97 has different disc mounts to the 93, one has floating discs one has not.

Just bought a 87 600cbr honda hurricane, to start

i would start at the tank and work your way to the carb looking for blackages in the petcock, fuel line ETC.

PUll the line directly at the carbs first, if you aren't getting fuel to there..work your way backwards to the tank check the line.

If you are getting fuel to the carbs, pulls them off, flip them over..take the bowl covers off..and clean inside eachn one real good..making sure all the jets are not clogged up.

im not sure if this model has a fuel pump but follow your fuel line and see if it does wen u find it remove black plastic cap and check the points contact breakers are in good conditon ie not worn uneven or worn out and that they open and close.check your air filter spark plugs and your carbs could have a blocked jet so get them cleaned and balanced.

Cbr 600 grtting ready for winter

top off the fuel tank to reduce the amount of air in there, less open space means less room for condensation to form and cause rust in the tank. next drain the float bowls if you dont really like pulling the carbs in the spring. also put the battery on a trickle charger to keep it from going bad.

Oil dripping out of exhaust port

need to replace the carb rack or get them completely rebuilt. If cleaning doesnt help, and a few of your pilots are actually damaged to a point where removal is impossible without some manner of special tool you need.
