Harley sporster 2009 does anyone know where i can

I don't understand what you want. If you something to test the engine temperature, an infrared temperature sensor gun is the best way. Get one that will read somewhere around 300 degrees max. If your engine gets hotter than that, it's toasted anyway.

If you want something that you can mount on the engine and read the temp while riding, I don't ahve a clue. Maybe an industrial supply house or an engine oil temp gauge.

Keep in mind that you're dealing with an air cooled engine. Not water cooled nor forced air cooled. The engines temperature will vary depending on the speed of the vehicle and ambient temperature. Do not allow the engine to idle for extended periods of time. I've seen many air cooled engines "fried" due to this.

I think I have bad fuel in the carburetor.

Regrettably, there is no drain plug on the float bowl of the carburator. Most late model Sportsters are very cold natured due to their extremely lean jetting from the factory. To get the old fuel out of the carb, first either drain the fuel tank or add fresh fuel to the fuel in the tank unless it's really bad. If it's that bad, drain the tank.

Put the enricher on and start the engine. Allow the engine to run with the enricher on until it warms up. Then, you should be able to turn the enricher off and the bike should continue to run.

The only other way to get the old fuel out of the float bowl is to remove the float bowl with the carb on the engine or remove the carb from the engine and turn it on it's side to drain the old fuel out. I wouldn't recommend removing the float bowl unless you're familiar with how it comes off and goes back on. I'd try to "run the fuel out" first. If you need help with removing the float bowl, either repost here or send me a message directly at [email protected] Good Luck!

Bright lites indicator out

The "high beam indicator" lamp gets it's power from the high beam wiring to your headlamp. Usually, it's wired in parallel with the high beam filament. The high beam filament is usually powered by the white wire going to the headlight. Evidently, this circuit has been bypassed by the modulator.

Bike not running right

First how long has she sat up before you got it. If she sat up 6 months or longer you may need to clean the carb(s). The valve you are asking about, is called a petcock, it turns the fuel off/on to the carbs. Turn it off when you leave it setting for a week or longer. If you want to leave it sit a lot longer, crank up the engine and as its running turn off the valve (gas) let her run out so the fuel (gas) does not gum up your Carb.s Now back to why she quits unless the choke is pulled out. What is happining is the choke shuts off some of the air going into the carb.s This forces the gas to be pulled in past any stoped up gumed up vents, ports what have you. So she runs but not great. You can try this. Turn off the tank valve start her up, to run her out of gas. Get your hands on a Turkey baster, some Seafoam (it is a fuel cleaner) Take the line off of the tank valve, force some Seafoam into the carbs with the baster. Let it sit over night. Start her up next day, (get her outside she will smoke up the house). Hook up your tank, put in some freash gas. Do it again if its not any better. If after 2x it does not clear up. You will have to take the carb out and phy. clean it. repost if you need help with that.

Need to see how the shifter is adjusted so the

The only adjustment is making sure the shifter pawl is properly centered. To do this you must remove the primary cover, then the primary drive to get to the pawl. This is a very big job and should not be done with out the manuel, about $60.00 at the dealer. This job covers about 10 pages in the manuel in 2 different sections. It really isn't that hard just pretty complex.

Noise in trans or in primary chain

It sounds like the primary drive chain is loose. The way I adjust mine is to take off the upper left inspection cover, start the bike and slowly tighten the adjuster until it starts to wine, then back off until it stops. Rev it slowly and listen for a wine. No wine good to go.
