How do i check and fill the oil on a BMW r1200c? What type of oil does it take?

on the left side of the engine, low down, there is a sight glass showing the oil level. The oil level should be somewhere in the sight glass between the top and the middle with the bike on the center stand and on level ground. On the left cylinder valve cover there is a screw out cap. This is where you can add oil as needed. I always use 20W-50 oil in my R bikes.

How do I change the oil on a 1998 BMW 1200C

drain plug is on the bottom of the oil pan. The plug needs an allen wrench. The oil filter is recessed near the drain plug and will need a filter wrench to remove it.

There a a numbered 1 to 4 adjustment on the clutch at the handle bar does this just add tension or does it control when the clutch engages ?

Hi, I think you will find that it is just an adjustment for where the lever sits. This is to allow for different hand sizes. Cheers
