Bad Starter?
i would put a voltmeter on my battery if i was you and bet your not putting out 13+ volts...to prove this, jump start your bike and see how quick it turns over... i would take my starter to someone who rebuilds starters and have it overhauled if the first trick doesn't work....those old big bikes take a lot of juice ! good luck to you...Tim
My bike boggs out in overdrive
how many miles are on the bike? have the carbs cyncronized and properly adjusted. it does sound like a fuel and or fuel air mix issue.

I looked
online and couldn't find a service manual. Best I can do is suggest that you g
o to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. Yes, I know the link says Yamaha. You will select the brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. Hopefully this will help in determining the position of the bushings.

If you open your battery box and trace the positive (red) wire all the way it will end up at the starter. You may run into a solenoid first, just keep goin
1983 glodwing will not start i put new batt in
It sound to me that you have a permanent drain. Charge the battery and put an amp meter in line and I'm guessing it will show a reading. After this remove one fuse at a time till the drain stops and you have partially indentified your problem.

Honda 1983 Goldwing will not start
Use 2 cables to by pass the starter relay by supplying external direct current to the starter.Use a second car battery for that but you must have the main switch on at the same time and the choke cable pulled out.If the starter works you should hear it immediately spinning the engine and you should not supply external power to the starter for more that 6-7 sec at the time.
1) If the starter works, but the bike will still not start, try a couple more times. If it still doesn't start after several times then you should check your carburator assemblies for gelled fuel inside.Assuming of course that you get, all this time, a good spark at the edge of all spark cables and you had your spark plugs renewed.
2) If, by the external electrical supply to the starter, the starter does not work at all then it must be jammed or stuck for a reason.Maybe needs new carbon contacts inside. You should take it out and have it repaired.
I hope I helped.

1983 goldwing 1100 hard to start
Did the old battery not have this problem? Need more of a description of the problem though.
Does the battery turn the motor over acceptably, and it just won't fire? Or does it seem to lack the current to turn the motor over?
For potential battery conditions, check voltage at battery, then check voltage at starter--if you lose too much, check the yellow triple wire connector right by the battery for corrosions/breaks, etc. Many have had trouble with this little connector set and most opt to replace the connector completely with a solid hard wiring.
There are many possibles on hard starts- if a physical problem, like the battery appears to not have enough power, make sure you've got good oil (to reduce friction of the innards, uses less power to crank). Also, make sure there's not a build up of fuel in a cylinder that causes a HYDRO LOCK--making it almost impossible for the starter to turn the motor over.
Start from NEUTRAL, not from geared with clutch lever held in--
Speed problem
You have a carb problem. Check your piston vacume in your carbs.I had the same problem, and it was the piston vacume that had a hole in both piston.Good luck tom :D

1994 honda goldwing rough idle and dies
Sounds like it has been sitting for too long and the gas got old and the carbs are gummed up. If that is the problem, carbs will have to be dismantled and thoroughly cleaned.
Motors interchangeable
every engine upto the 1200 will fit. including the 1000. (Every Goldwing engine will fit, if you are prepared to make some mods) All the engines up to the 1200 are 4 cylinders all the engines above this are 6 cylinders.
Remove carburetor on a1983 honda goldwing interstate
Removing the carbs on these model Goldwings is a JOB!! Best to have it done by a professional. But i will tell you that the intake runners have to be removed,as well as both side fairings, and the false tank, before even thinking about getting them out.
