Anti lock brake lights flashing simultaneously
I would check the brake pads first to see if they are worn badly, spent a lot time once learning that will cause ABS lights to flash!
Grounding the middle pin on the ABS diagnostic plug , turn on the ignition and mash both brakes to see if the bulb checker light goes out! Very important, left out of procedure on IBMWR, if the red bulb checker light doesn't go out you have a blown tail light or stop light bulb and the ABS won't reset!
Or you have a bad bulb checker module underneath the seat. If the red light goes out then the ABS lights should go to flashing then push the ABS reset button and hold for slow count of 10 or so. Release and try it. Hope this helps!
K 75
I will premise this by saying I have not taken a hiatus from riding for any longer than 18 months. So 30 years ~ WOW!
My recollections after not riding for a while and getting ready for that first ride afterwards, are that balance and protection from injury in case of an accident were at the forefront of my thoughts.
Well, the BMW K75s is a very well-balanced bike. Having owned one for ten years, I will never not own at least one K bike, likely not the 100 either. The handling of the bike is far superior to other bikes I have ridden, albeit only rice burners and Harleys.
The K75sis a sporty looking machine, but also has great touring characteristics (who said you get only one or the other??). I would easily ride fully loaded from KC to Dallas (about 7.5 hours) stopping for little more than fuel and a strech.
I guess I am a pretty big fan of the BMWs, and the K75S in particular.
K 75 motorcycle starter wont go off
... as in you turn the key on and the
starter starts running? I would look in two areas..First, find and check
the start solenoid. I think it may be stuck in the 'closed' position. This could
be due to one of two reasons: 1 - it is physically stuck, closing the contacts
in this electrically operated switch - 2 - there is a short in a wire that
keeps the solenoid charged all the time. When you press the start
button, the solenoid (an electric magnet switch) is charged, pulling a plunger
into a position where the battery is connected to the starter. When you release
the start button, the electric magnet is turned off and the plunger (with the
help of a spring) is suppose to open the contact turning off the
starter. The other reason is mechanical. The starter gear may not be
releasing from flywheel for some reason, probably a lever or weak or broken
spring. I am not a BMW expert, but those are the things I would be looking for
in your case.
Good luck with your project and thanks for your interest in FixYa.com

What causes premature wear in the rings and bore of BMW K75s?
I would recommend a leak down test to distinguish if the low compression was due to ring wear or an issue with the valves/seats...cylinders bores dont just wear out from sitting.
It's very possible that the valve seals were worn allowing crankcase oil to seep into the combustion chambers, thus causeing it to smoke. Being a 3 cylinder water cooled engine it should not have an overheating issue to cause the rings to stick...unless it was neglected, and not regularly serviced, debris in the oil filter, low oil pressure.. sludge from worn out oil. A good clean air cleaner is important...bad filtration will cause premature engine wear. Install a K & N high flow filter... and your good for the life of the bike.
Hope this answers your question...good luck with your bike.
