Bike will idle but stalls if I touch the throttle
Check fuel flow to carb, if getting free flow to carb the main jet is most likely blocked or the float is stuck. Either one will require removing the carb and cleaning, not difficult but you need to be careful. The hardware is usually soft and will strip easily. You MAY be able to remove the float bowl with the carb still on the bike by loosening the air filter duct clamp and clamps or bolts on the head side, then turning the carb to access the float bowel screws.
Bike will start but stops after a second or two
If it was used "once or twice all summer", and you left the ga in it, the carbs are probably gummed/clogged up.
When gas sits, it's components start to separate, and it turns almost into a varnish.
This starts clogging up the jets and ports in the carb.
You probably need to "boil out" the carbs
Running light not working
1. check fuses for running lights2. check for broken, corroded, damaged wires for running lights (sometimes brown colored wires).3. If all lights work except headlight, check the starter switch contacts on the handlebar button
What causes 1 running light not to work
Hi,, Just a guess but many running/turn signal bulbs have two filaments in them (two bulbs in one) and one may be burned out. Hit the hardware store and pick up another. Thats the cheapest way out for the first try. The wiring is probably good since the turn signal works. Try a new bulb and see. Couple bucks at most.
I don't know anything about
it needs ajust--start at handlebar cable turnin the floating nut--if no relief then ajust where cable attaches to engine--it may need an internal fix-so buy a clymer manual for details
2005 Yamaha v star 650 losing power
What Exactly does the bike do when it 'loses power'? This will give clues as to where the issue could be. When was the last time the bike was given a major service? Sometimes it can be as simple as a dirty fuel/air filter or an old/worn or dirty spark plug.
