In 4th. and 5th. gear when you try to crank up the throttle to hard the engine appears to be in nutural

Is your clutch good put it in 1st gear hold the brake on and try to move rev it a little let the clutch out and see if it revs up or wants to stall do not burn it up just see if it slips in 1st it just may need a clutch adjustment.

adjust your clutch cable....it sounds like its slipped. an easy job. follow cable to both ends and see if there is any loose play as you engage. adjustable spanner and screw driver. Red

2001 YAMAHA ROYAL STAR 1300

If the coolant is a milky brown, you have some oil in the system. This could be a failed head gasket or it could just be some rust in the coolant. First you should drain and flush the coolant system, then refill with fresh coolant(to the spec that Yamaha recommend) If the problem persists after a short period of riding, then you probably have a failed head gasket.

I just purchased a still

I have heard of issues regarding the sound which is solved by adding grease. However in your case it could be a defect which may occur for every thousands of these bikes sold. I understand that these parts should have been machined and smoothed out, maybe the dealer would agree to replace the part.

I have a 96 Royal

The clutch is hydraulic, in other words it uses brake fluid to make pressure. ----------

The problem is likely a leak in the clutch master or slave cylinder or hose.

-The master cylinder is beside the clutch lever.
-The slave cylinder is smaller and at the other end of the hose on the engine.

-Put some dot4 brake fluid in the reservoir put the cover back on and pump the clutch lever, if it leaks anywhere that unit will need a seal kit installed.

-The air will need to be bled from the system afterward. Hold the clutch lever in and open
the small bleed screw on the slave unit to release the air. Tighten the screw before releasing the lever. Repeat until you feel the clutch working.

Repeat bleeding air several times until you get a good squirt of fluid coming out of the bleeder screw, otherwise clutch will not function, if air is there in the system.-----------

This should help.thanks.Helpmech.

The proses to take out

Typically to remove baffles out of the exhaust you either need to remove the bolts in the muffler or drill out rivets. Once either are removed the process is pretty simple with pulling out the insert and removing the baffles.

Good luck

Backfire from the cylinders on

More than likely it is both a sync and adjustment problem. I suggest you ask for at least a 50% refund from the inept repair shop. They took money to fix the problem. It is not your fault that the repair was beyond their ability.

I have a 2002 Royal

Okay, possible problem is the final drive isn't quite the final drive because they transfer the power through the final drive to a inner sprocket looking affair which has rubber pumpers or pads to take up the shock. It's not metal on metal it's a rubber drive.

Hard to explain but, what you are hearing is the drive cogs working on a dry rubber bushing, same type system on the Goldwings, there was a special synthetic grease that went on mine and we were good for a ton of miles after that.

Also these rubber drive parts do crack and break apart after about 10,000 miles.
