Haynes manuals are the best to learn your ride inside out,every nut,bolt and direction to go. Even if you have never done one. Yard tapes use it when they get stomped. So beat em to it you'd be surprised in how simple ,maybe a pain in your short hairs but theory is...you can add to something,but you can't take away from it to work.

If you follow the positive battery cable to the starter solenoid relay and/or look around your battery storage area you should see somewhere either as part of a small bank or actually on the starter solenoid relay itself - a fuse. Usually the same as most cars take - not the very small square fuses the newer vehicles use, but a normal square fuse. If you pull that out and check it - you may have just blown a fuse. - actually yours may be a little farther away. 7 & 9 are your main fuses. Check if power is leaving solenoid to starter while cranking. If starter is getting power to it's power terminal but not turning over,see if you can turn engine over by hand. Check sprage clutch assy into engine also. On my bike there is a flat washer spacer that can away into engine if I am not careful,can jam in gearing.

If that bowl has never been removed before it's going to be stuck on there good.
If you have removed all the screws holding the bowl on (usually 4 screws, one on each "corner" of the bowl), then it may take some pulling to get it off.
The gasket is probably dried up and brittle so if you do get it off, realize you may need to get a new gasket as the old one make now leak after being pulled apart after more than 40 years.

It’s .028-.032 and you should be using a NGK CR9E Spark Plug or a quality plug that’s equivalent. Are you just doing a spring tune up or are you having an issue? If so, let me know and I’ll help as much as I can my friend. I put 4-5 sets in my GSXR 1000 last year before figuring out why it kept “fouling” them. I thought I had major problems, the bike ran great at idle and up to 4K-5K RPM but then it just cut out and wouldn’t rev higher. Turns out that when the previous owner reinstalled the gas tank(after changing the plugs as part of a simple tune up) he accidentally got the fuel line in a slight bind and it messed up the ability of the fuel system to get adequate fuel to the injectors. I found out by sitting the tank in a chair beside the bike as I started it, which stretched any obstruction or “bind” out of the fuel line so it flowed free- I fired it up and barely touched the throttle- boom straight to like 9K-10K RPM- what a relief. I shared that as an example of how the simplest things need not ever be overlooked. I doubt you have any such issue but perhaps someone will see this later and it’ll be helpful.

Solenoid to battery +, battery - to frame. Attach + side first. If the starter spins when you touch the negative cable to the battery your starter solenoid is stuck.
