05 crf 250x ran out of oil and now is knocking .only at idol

Sounds like a faulty connecting rod at it's beginning. This knocking will escalate with use to louder knocking.Take off the cylinder head's cover, the camshafts and the chain tensioner to check them for damage. If they are ok it would be wise to proceed to an overhaul repair and check everything inside and replace the connecting rod with a new one.

My bike has sat for

Ok mate few things to consider here, if the bike has been non started and stationary for a year there is a very good chance that one of the following or all of the following has occurred.
Your battery is dead (they don't like just sitting - doesn't matter new or old, if left for extensive time they will die) Your gear / motor oil would be useless - oil can not just sit in bottom of bike for a year it would be glue
Your carbi would be blocked or partially blocked from fuel gum or varnish in jets
If you like this bike I highly recommend oil and filter change, New spark plug (put about 10 drops of oil down the spark plug hole before you put new spark plug back in to lube the piston) clean air filter (or fit new one) Remove carbi and compressed air clean all jets especially the pilot jet and circuit and stick in a new battery
Once all done for the fist start I would find a nice safe hill and push start it. in my experience under this circumstances if you rely on the electric starter you may find you burn it out trying to start so give at least few minutes running motor to flush everything through before trying to electric start would be your best bet
When you get it going I would dump the oil and oil filter again after 2 hours ride time to confirm all the old expired oil is flushed out - just to be safe
good luck regards Jamie

I have a suzuki boulevard

It sounds like it is time for a new battery. While the regulator could have been damaged during the jumping procedure, the symptoms you've outlined still point to a bad battery. Motorcycle batteries do not fair well from a complete discharge. Sometimes removing the all of the acid and replacing with new acid will provide another year of service, but not always.

My reasoning for the thinking it is the battery is because of it not being kept charged over the winter and it was working fine before then (charging system usually does not get damaged from non-use). If the bike died when you removed the cable while it was idling, this would suggest the battery as well as a magneto based charging system is very weak at idle and relies on the battery to supplement it during periods of idle. To test my theory, jump the bike off, rev it to 1200 to 1500 RPM and disconnect the jumper cable. If the bike continues to run but dies when you let it idle, then the charging system is functioning and the battery needs to be replaced.

How would I go about

Colin, many sights offer electronic manual downloads for a fee. Auction sites are a great place to start. Make certain you know your bike's model designation so that you get the right manual. Typically you can get a service e-manual for around $10. Once you pay the site through credit card or some other means, they give usually give you a code to download your manual.

Where is the rectifier located on my 2004 suzuki katana 600

Behind the radiator on the left side. It is the device with cooling fins, even though the electronic parts are embedded in rubber paste. The location isn't ideal and sudden defects leave people stranded so what people do is relocate the regulator/rectifier to a cooler place. Perhaps to the air inlet, under the air filter. Follow the three, mostly, yellow cables that originate from the stator when you don't find it behind the radiator.

Why my Suzuki TF 125 losses power in the midway? What are the causes for such loss of power?

What do you mean by "Midway"? How old is this motorbike? What exactly did you do to clean the carburettor? Is it a new spark plug and a new, clean air filter? Did you empty the fuel tank to remove the fuel tap to clean the filter on the inside of the tap? Is it doing anything else? Things like - is it hard to start, has heavier exhaust smoke or it has a rough and uneven idle.

I own a 2009 Suzuki Boulevard. Problem is the motor is jammed. It turns but only half a turn before it hits something solid inside. what are the possibilities it could be that is causing the problem

A broken timing chain is the most likely cause, the piston is hitting an open valve, or you have a dropped valve or a stuck valve. Another possibility is something jamming behind behind the side covers. The key would be how you discovered this? Driving along at 105 and the engine stopped, or ???https://www.google.com/search?q=2009+suzuki+boulevard+timing+chain+or+timing+belt....
