Will not shift into first gear

Sounds like your clutch is out of adjustment, or needs to be bled. Most of the ktm's use a Magura hydraulic clutch which can be bled using Mineral Oil. DO NOT USE BRAKE FLUID.

My 2012 exc500 cuts out with throttle wide open and FI light flickers on.

The F1 light is an engine management error, take it to your nearest dealer and get them to run their diagnosis machine on it. You may have a mixture problem or an ignition timing problem.

KTM Duke 125: dashboard shows "Low oil pressure" but the moto is just back from the garage, and he has certainly enough oil.

Since it was just worked on ... take it back and find out what the problem is. Could be a disconnected or faulty sensor. In any event, since you took it to be repaired, and paid for it, get it repaired. Don't run the bike until this is resolved. Low pressure is DEADLY to a engine.

How do you know when to replace friction plates on a 2011 ktm 350 sxf

If you are racing, or riding really hard you may need to check the clutch each season. You can take the friction plates out and measure the thickness, and check this against KTMs recommended limits. If the raised squares on the friction plates are worn off they surely need replacing. Normal trail riding with some moderately hard riding should see the clutch last for many years without needing new plates. The plates might still be OK in 2031! Change the oil as often as recommended in the manual, or as often as you can afford! (General advice only).

Can a cracked 2008 ktm 85 sx be welded?

Yes it can be done, but Ally welding is not something for a novice. Find a local engineering company with a good reputation and they should be able to help.

99 KTM BOGGS AT MID RANGE AND POPS THROUGH MUFFLER AND WONT IDLE

1. check for an intake leak in front of the carb, like broke carb gromet, carb flange o'ring/gasket leaking, or any broken or leaking vacuum lines. If the bike has been sitting for a while or has had little use, the carb is probably plugged up and needs cleaning.

Ran out of gas and will not start back up?

Since you drained the tank most probably the dirt which collects in any tank over a period of use would have been used up & thus those dirt went to the carburator. If you have a filter before the carb, clean it BUT MOST IMP clean the jets in the carb, especially the the fuel jet/nipple.

Broken crank shaft for 2002ktm65sx

If you go online and do a search for Motorcycle Salvage yards you may have some luck. They also salvage snowmobiles and boats up here in Michigan. Many of these businesses will ship directly to you which is good considering the teardown needed to remove the crank. Or you may be able to get a shortblock from someone who was in an accident or damaged a head or Insurance recovery. These kind of things wind up in Salvage yards.I believe Craigslist and Ebay also have a portion of their sites where you can request for things you want to buy. That gives you a big audience.I hope my solution is helpful to you.

How do i remove the ststor from my ktm mxc 300

Disconect the stator wiring coming from the engine cover, drain oild if its a wet coil, remove engine cover, remove fly wheel (will need a puller or flywheel removal tool witch threads into the fly wheel inner thread and pops it off when you screw the bolt down the inner thread of the puller) remove the stator bolts and thats you.

What causes my fat boy to idle just fine but fall on its face back fire and try to shut down while riding

Some common causes and potential solutions: Air/Vacuum Leak: If your Harley develops a vacuum leak in its air intake system, the air-fuel mixture becomes too rich. This can cause frequent stall outs, especially after the bike warms up. Vacuum leaks often occur due to dried-out or cracked air intake boots, faulty gaskets, or worn-out carburetor seals. When air escapes from the intake system, the fuel fills the empty space in the combustion chamber, altering the air/fuel ratio and negatively impacting combustion. Severe vacuum leaks can lead to excess fuel flowing into the exhaust system, causing backfiring and stalling while riding. Clogged Fuel Tank Filter/Fuel Injectors: A blocked fuel tank filter (due to coagulated fuel, moisture, dirt, or corrosion) impairs fuel flow, resulting in a lean air/fuel ratio. On fuel-injected Harleys, clogged fuel injectors produce similar symptoms. Regular maintenance, including cleaning and inspecting fuel filters, helps prevent these issues. Faulty Cam Chain Tensioner: A malfunctioning cam chain tensioner can affect engine timing and cause stalling. Regular checks and replacements are essential to avoid this problem. Faulty Cam Position Sensor: The cam position sensor plays a crucial role in ignition timing. If it malfunctions, it can lead to stalling and backfiring. Clogged Air Cleaner: A dirty air cleaner restricts airflow, affecting combustion efficiency. Regularly clean or replace the air filter to prevent this issue. Ignition System Failure: Faulty ignition components (such as spark plugs, ignition coils, or wires) can cause misfires, backfires, and stalling. Inspect and maintain these parts regularly. Compromised Battery Terminal Connection: Poor battery connections can disrupt electrical flow, affecting the ignition system. Ensure clean and secure battery terminals. Remember that diagnosing and addressing these issues may require professional assistance. Regular maintenance and timely repairs can keep your Fat Boy running smoothly on the road.
