To change your oil filter remove oil drain plug drain oil into an oil pan clean and replace oil drain plug, then remove oil filter, pour a drop of clean oil onto a new oil filter, and lube gasket, then replace the old oil filter with the new oil filter. Finally, add clean oil to the motorcycle until the oil level window shows oil in the middle of the viewing window when the bike is upright. ,,,

The oil filter is underneath the bike in the front where the large square gray oil pan is located. There are two bolts. One is surrounded by a large circle which is about the size of your new oil filter. Remove the bolt and there will be a small washer then the circular metal plate which cups the oil filter. This has a gasket which seals against leaks and inside of the cupped metal plate is the oil filter. Remove replace, and reinstall the parts in the same order. ,,,

Hi saturnin

That's the best way to get it right. Do what the manual tells you to do.

To check the oil
  1. Put the bike on level concrete on the center stand
  2. Check the oil with the dipper in the oil fill hole.
  3. Check it hot 10 mins after turning off the bike by unscrewing the oil fill plug, wipe the stick, and just dip it without screwing it back in, and check it for level.
  4. Pour in small amounts at a time to top it right up to the mark, but never ever over fill it.
  5. Screw back in the plug/dipper.
Hope this helps, am happy to answer any other questions you may have about it. Cheers!!

regards
robotek

Hi, Todd parts swapping is common with most motorcycles when it comes to interchangeable or compatible parts from one model with another "EXCEPT" for the CDI's they are year-make-model "SPECIFIC" the best thing to do is call your local Dealership Parts Department or a reputable independent shop. If your location is not near a shop then go online and find a parts catalogue or "FICHE" and match part numbers depending on your criteria.

Hi, Bevie before testing any electrical component in the Starting Circuit it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Engine Run Switch is "FAULTY" or corroded.
4. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
5. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
6. FOB battery low or dead.
7. Faulty ignition switch.
8. Faulty starter button.
9. Faulty kickstand, clutch, neutral safety switch.
10. Security alarm needs a reset.
11. Starter relay, solenoid, starter motor or circuit wiring faulty.
12. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
13. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
14. Faulty ignition relay.
15. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
16. Check for engine trouble codes.
