kawasaki ZX-6R Ninja - Answered Questions & Fixed Issues
I have recently noticed my t reg zx6r has a major
Check for vacuum leaks around the carb. intake boots. If there are no leaks take carbs apart and clean the main and intermediate jets. you may have to possibly rejet it with different size jets. Have you made any changes to the bike's engine or exhaust?
99 zx6r bike was jetted to high before an would
Hey.. Time for a qualified professional to take a look at your fuel system... First, there is NO reason to "jet an engine high" unless there has been extensive modifications...(and ones that actually work!!!)... have the PROFESSIONAL clean and set the carbs... the gas in your oil is coming from the carburetors..
PLEASE take this entire bike to a PROFESSIONAL.. let them FIX it.. and TELL them about the jets.. they know what is correct..let them FIX IT!!
00 kawasaki ninja zx6r my bike don have no power,
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
I understand that you have checked the:
- battery - that it is fully charged and that the cables & terminals / connectors are clean and tight;
- fuses - including the 30 Amp main fuse;
- starter relay - there is +12 on the white wire.
Should the above hold true, then the only remaining components to suspect / check would be the always on +12 connectors and/or the ignition switch.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
Louder/deeper noise from engine/exhaust and a loss of power.
Check the exhaust. Sometimes the muffler will partially collapse internally, (louder noise). This restriction in the flow of exhaust gases is commonly called "back pressure". The back pressure will cause a lack of power and loss of higher revs.
Disconnect the exhaust system and ride around the block without a muffler. It will tick off mom and dad but the kids will love it. If the problem instantly disappears then you can go find a new set of pipes.
Please rate this solution as "FixYa" ( if it works ). Thanks!

Why dont i have 5th gear on my 1996 Kawazx6r
There's something wrong or damaged in the selectors. Get a manual and see how easy it is to access the selectors, it varies from make to make, you may find you only have to get inside the outer cases to replace a part of the shifter and its no great drama.
How do I balance the carbs on my 1996 Kawa ZX6R
To balance the carbs you will need sychronizing gauges and a petrol supply to run the engine while you adjust the carbs into balance I'vhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0qf11BOx6oe added a youtube video to give you an idea of how to go about this task
My 2000 zx6r will only run with choke and wont rev with throttle instead it cuts out.where do i start?
Being 100 percent you have fresh quality gas that has NO, NONE, ZERO ethanol, also called oxygenated gas. Companies ripping off the public with adding 10 percent alcohol account for 50% of my business nowadays. Use a premium recreational fuel that clearly states "contains no ethanol/alcohol", drain out everything you can, start there. If no help, most likely the carbs will have to come apart, if you're handy get a service manual from for example amazon and go to work. Best of luck to you.
My 200 zx6r will only run with choke on and will not rev with throttle,instead it cuts out.where do i start?
first thing is your cable good on your throttle , is this a hand choke do u have a broken vacuum hose going to the carb this sounds like a vacuum leak , could be a broken gasket between the carb and the intake , loose bolts , pull out your plugs and ck if they have carbon build up on them which would be black if so clean them up and find you vacuum leak , could be other things but this is where to start , oh is the gas good and are you getting enough fuel to the carb ck the gas filter , could also be out of timing , but start at the carb ,make sure you have good gas , ck could be bad plug wire ,
How to replace head gasket 2006 Kawasaki zr 6 j ?
Unless you have a few special tools and EXCELLANT mechanical ability, this should be left to a professional. It may look easy, and it is to a professional, but there are more things to consider. You may have to remove the engine from the frame?.. completely cleaning and prepping both the cylinder and head surfaces for re-assembly. then....re-time both cams to the correct crankshaft location ... checking the valves for sealing, new exhaust gaskets, cam cover gaskets, check intake boots for cracking/leaks... then setting ALL the valve clearances to spec... You get the idea... getting it redone is ALWAYS more expensive than having it done right the first time, MAKE SURE the shop warranties (IN WRITING) their work!
(I guarantee my 2-cycle race motors for 1 race! PERIOD!) In 35+ years only had 1 break.. it broke the crankshaft end off in the main bearing ... (factory defect) BUT, I PAID FOR ALL PARTS and repaired it free!! $$$ouch!!!
