Honda Vigor FX 650 - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

What method are you using? Telepathy rarely works, but is so satisfying when it does. A little more detail may help... Are the ign lights illuminating, does the engine turn over, have you checked for a spark, does it smell of petrol?

The battery can be accessed by removing the right side cover and unbolting the smaller battery cover underneath the fuse box. The seat is removed by taking out the two bolts that hold it in place. I believe the two bolts are underneath the fender and go up into the seat You should not have to remove the seat to charge or remove the battery.

Hi there and thank you for using FixYa!

Yes this is a common problem with bikes having dirty spark plugs and poor fuel quality. What you do is to remove the plugs, clean it well.. or better, replace it with a new one. Then if it still doesnt start, pull the choke knob for a while. start it.. if it still doesnt start. Open the carbs to check if there are any dirt blocking the jets. Blow the holes with compressed air. Assemble and replace it back. Start. if it still doesnt work, check for the cable, make sure it has current firing to the spark plug.

let me know if this helps..

A Sticky clutch springs to mind in that scenario.

Engine off
Put bike in 1st gear
Pull the clutch in

Can you push the bike forwards?

You can also try running the bike on tick over until the bike is fully warmed up to heat the clutch plates.
