if it is a 2 stroke it depends if it is an fuel/ oil premix set up or meter oil jet
the metered oil jet has a low oil level unit that prevents it running when there is no oil to mix
next , not being used for so long , the crankshaft seals will be dry and not sealing properly and so compression will be well down as it needs those seals to be perfect to get the fuel mixture into the sump and set it for the compression stroke
next it most likely has a kill switch on the handles so make sure that it is operational
so first steps are to turn on the ignition, remove the plug , ground it out by placing the body on the engine and kicking it over
If it doesn't spark then why not would be a good place to start
so what is your problem?
many 2 strokes engines have a separate oil tank with a metering jet to get the correct fuel/oil ratio for any given throttle setting
with a distinct lack of details,to get a better answer you have to state all the details and exactly the problem you have
remove the carby and clean out the obstruction stopping the needle from seating properly
the float level is too high and that is making the mixture to rich on acceleration and allowing fuel top flow out

Looks like the fuel cap is behind the seat, so most likely the fuel tank is under the seat.
A manual is available here:

You might want to try unplugging the parking brake sensor it helped me. it is located on the clutch lever it is the top wire that is closest to you while you are sitting on the bike. follow it down to underneath the hood disconnect it see how it runs. Hi Noah, It's either fuel OR electrical, First check both spark plug and coil.. Pull spark plug out and visually inspect for any dirt touching both electrodes... Next, Plug the spark plug back into the spark plug lead and earth it to the motor(make sure the spark plug is touching metal)then try turning the motor to see if the spark plug is sparking...
Also the link below is a short YouTube video showing the right colour spark and it should spark over the top of the centre electrode,
How to check for Spark Plug Fire in any engine
If it does spark then it's a fuel problem. You need to pull your carby off and unscrew the bottom half from the top, 1st sign of a needle stuck inside the seat is a dry carby There you'll find the float, push the float up and down and see if the needle above the float slides up and down from the seat, If the needle stays up then it's stuck and NOT letting the fuel into the carby, Just pull it down with your fingers to loosen it up..I hope this helps.... CHEERS..
Joseph, Only when engine is 2 stroke, or if it has oil injection you do not have to mix, the oil injection does this for the engine.

If shop bought, go to them...
If other (2nd hand etc) Email Manufacturers customer services.
You'll need the bikes VIN (metal plate, side of engine) and the ownership documents...
Good luck, let me know...
Hi Paige, Seems like the problem is where the float and needle meet, The needle and seat let the gas into the bottom of the carby and as the gas rises the float rises as well pushing the needle up into the seat slowing the gas flow into the bottom of the carby.... As the motor's using the gas in the bottom of the carby the float's lowering and the needle lowers as well allowing gas into the carby, If the part of the float that meets the needle is bent down slightly it's going to let more gas into the bottom of the carb because it's not pushing the needle up when it should, YOU NEED TO BEND THAT PART OF THE FLOAT UP SLIGHTLY TO STOP THE GAS COMING OUT THE OVERFLOW.... I hope you know what I mean....CHEERS..
Sounds like it is time to adjust your valves. And be prepared for the installation Of some new valves also. As for the rest there is a ground problem that needs addressed if it's activating the starter solenoid. Sadly this is just doing the wire and wiggle test on everything.
Hi Daniel:
I'd start by checking the float valve. Make sure it is connected properly to the float, and that it closes properly when the float is in the up position.
Mate check your spark plug doesn't have any dirt deposits on the centre electrode that will stop it from sparking, If it clear plug it back into the spark plug lead then sit it on your motor and see it if sparks when you turn the motor over, If no spark then it still could be the spark plug or the coil... Good luck....
