I have a 2004 GMC Envoy. It was blowing out hot air and not holding freon. Replaced air compressor, but when AC is running there is a clicking noise and the truck acts like its going to shut off.

The guage needs to read between 35/40 psi.. If its much higher you may be overfull, this causes it to not cool.. Fix by letting some freon out, then top it back to needed pressure.. If pressure is correct, it would be a clog in the system.. Usually an orafice tube or accumulator..good luck!
I would check the freon in the system. Their are kits avail. at parts shops such as Advance etc. Follow the directions and "viola" things will be cool.
the a/c system could be low on freon but not to low so as the compressor stops working this can cause your problem.you don`t say if the compressor cycles constantly as this is another indicator the system is low.
If you still get cold air out of the rear vents but the front only blows hot air you may have a bad temp door actuator in the dash, it may be stuck on hot and not able to move to cold air. However if you are low on freon with a truck that has front and rear ac then there will be a temp diff between the two. If it is hot air out the front like the heat is on then you have that actuator problem but if it is cool air about the same as the outside air temp then you may be low on freon.
Could be several things. The fuse relay to the AC compressor could be bad. The system may need to be recharged due to lack of refrigerant the compressor will not work unless it has enough.
